I'm in awe of your transformation. Very few individuals can turn their life around as you have. Either local television or even one of the major cable news networks should do a special on you. Not only will it highlight that ex cons are worth bringing back into the societal fold, but will also erase the stereotype associated with being locked up. Incredible job dog. You got alot of people that respect you.

GJ on the intro dude. Great point on thinking ahead. You let your emotions, especially pride control your actions, you will suffer - end of story. Self restraint does not make you weak. In fact it often takes more strength to hold yourself back and stay level headed when you're steamed about something. The youngin's don't usually understand that and end up learning the hard way.

It’s crazy how much your mentality changes when you have something to lose (a wife, kids, a good job, etc), compared to when you’re a young Billy Badass with no real responsibilities or prospects. When I was young, I didn’t truly understand how much my mistakes would hurt down the line, which led to really dumb decisions. Hopefully your videos will help prevent kids from making those mistakes. That alone makes your channel a huge asset, so much respect for that!

Very fascinating stuff as usual. Always wondered if people who aggressively collect on debts were afraid of jail time. Ryan in season 2 of 60 days in, had a good inmate store tactic. He never allowed people to buy from him and pay later. Anything he sold, they always had what he wanted right on hand. All transactions were one to one.

I went through this 2-year drug treatment place in Durham, NC called TROSA (you may have heard of it) and one of the big rules that could get you kicked out real quick-like was doing any of the stuff you did on the street when it came to conflict resolution. You were not allowed to even say the word ‘snitch’, you couldn’t confront somebody, verbally OR physically...once a week, we all would get into big groups and sit in a circle (there were about 400 people at this place) and that’s where you did your confronting. We would cuss each other out, laugh, cry, whatever it is we needed to do to get rid of that negative energy. But calling someone a snitch was just about the quickest way to get sent home or back to jail/prison. Our big saying about it was “you don’t have to live like that anymore”. Which is to say that, provided you pay attention, you’ll be leaving this place with some skills on how to resolve conflict, how to maintain a stable attitude and how to maintain your composure in situations where in the past, you might become violent.

Come store day i found out he paid every one else but me. We had to go to the bathroom and handle that. Sometimes its situational how you handle it. For the most part i had a couple of homies i took care of and they handled some of the debts for me.
