These schools should be made accountable for lack of care. I also faced similar circumstances and the school nurse wouldn't allow me to go to hospital. Aaaaaargh! What can we do!!! Kenyans let us rise up and seek justice for Ebbie. Please, this could be your child or mine. Let us make noise until this school is closed. Forever!!!!!! I remember being profiled in my first year of high school because I came from what the teachers called a posh primary school. I became a target for bullying by teachers, and my life in high school was hell. I know that Kenyan teachers can be arrogant. They feel untouchable. My heart broke when Ebbie's mother said that she was not allowed to see the bed where her daughter slept. What kind of monster would deny a mother such closure? I know. The same type of monsters who denied me permission to go and see my dad on his death bed, because I was doing an end of term exam. Arrogance, impunity, corruption and hatred are rife in our schools, especially these so-called missionary schools.

As a proud Jamaican, I'm struggling to understand the mother's comment about the principal saying Ebbie was claiming to be Jamaican! I'm sat here wondering if Ebbie was being bullied at school and she didn't have an outlet to let this known due to Kenyan society. All parents should be unified and mobilise resources to uncover what really transpired that led to the poor girl's death! That principal and her staff are all hiding information and a lack of regard was shown to the family by the non-attendance of representatives from the school! I bet if it were a politician, diplomat, an elite member of society or a foreigner's child, the whole situation would've been handled differently and the principal would've been arrested. Those nurses ought to be ashamed of themselves at the snail's pace they responded to such an emergency! Isn't the BOARDING school meant to have a nurse or first aider on campus at all times? This is sad on many levels and the Kenyan Education Ministry ought to investigate this death and ensure that the family gets justice! That mother should also file a civil suit against the school for wrongful death! Parents should remove their children from that school and then it would close down. Rest in Peace Ebbie x

I was personally a victim of a bully when i was in form four, and this girl brought alcohol and a knife to school, during third term, so when she finishes her exams, she stabs me and runs away. God is good, because she was caught just as she was about to do her thing. There was a bit of drama ensuing, and the matter was to be picked up again in the morning. Long story short, she ran away in the course of the night and that was the end of that issue. Not a word after from the school😢😢 This is just so to let people know that anything is possible and these people will always deny to the end. My heart breaks for Ebby and her family. trust me when i tell you it is either the matron or her assistant. this is why, most of these matrons and their assistants are not that well educated so when the teachers have a problem with a certain student they usually carry the hate too, i believe the matron had some sort of disliking for this girl maybe because of the Rastafarian preference plus remember she wets her bed. i think the girl might have over slept, the matron found her, maybe pushed her and she landed on something that hit her head, she fainted, the matron was shaken and laid her back to bed. the kids on coming back found her helpless and it goes on from there. but huyu matron or the assistant know what really happened! my thinking!

I was in boarding school from class 6 I told my parents what I went through..... How we were beaten like animals..... No one listened....... I went to a boarding highschool...... The same....... Parents don't know what their children undergo in those schools..... When the students complain they are like.... 'si kuna watu wengine huko kwani hao hawachapwi'..... Same case to everyone.......teachers & the administration take advantage of the fact that parents are not around & when the parents come to visit abruptly they aren't allowed to see their children......Why?..... Students are always complaining.....but they aren't heard.... So they look for forceful ways to get heard..... Strikes & burning of dorms...... Then the blame is to them........ Have you ever heard of striking day schools?....... There is a simple solution to all this....... BURN ALL BOARDING SCHOOLS IN KENYA!!!!......

The ministry of education should consider introducing anonymous questionnaires during such occurrences, not merely interviewing students at police stations, because for sure the dorm mates should always know what happened. May God comfort the family and let justice prevail.

Did anybody notice that there were 3 able-bodied ladies in that car yet they still had to peacefully sit inside the car and wait for the hospital staff to get this young soul out for "EMERGENCY" response? This definitely defies the law of first instinct when you take someone in dire need to hospital. This clearly shows there was no urgency to save her life, they knew she was long dead but were just shedding crocodile tears. Rest well Ebbie, they will pay either on earth or after.
