The reason 'Amina' screamed so loud is because she knew there was someone in the next room that would come to her rescue after she had shared her previous experience with this journalist. She knew that at least somebody cared and helped her realize that what was being done to her was wrong and unnecessary. This is a primary example of why most women suffer in silence after being defiled mostly because they don't trust that whoever they come forward to with this information will be on their side so they'd rather not endure the shame; being poorly judged and all.

This reminds me when I was in form 3 back in 2011 I experienced some stomach pains and my sent me to our local public hospital. It was in the afternoon so most of the medics were away. At the consultation room I met a male medic who qfter explaining my symptoms he began pressing my stomach and told me to undress so he can "check" my virginity because he believes it is the cause of my stomachache. I assumed he was up to no good. When I tried to leave the room he held me back. Nilimuuma uso in the process and screamed. I went home and told my mum the whole ordeal usitake jua the circus she caused at that facility. Women go through a lot of sexual abuse than is reported in Kenyan hospitals.
