Faisal’s ideology about selecting only winners probably stems from being a Madrid fan. Theres A lot more to managing than just winning titles. A lot of that is situational - those managers who have won a title or two have had the financial backing to do so and usually flame out. But those who can stay consistent over a long time with low to mid budget teams should also be credited.

I get what he's saying as an Madrid fan my self. Last season Ancelotti was honestly bad in the first half of the season. Didn't know how to sub rly. But when knockouts came about he improved. It’s so funny that Kieran brought up Bruce giving players days off to please the players. At Newcastle while battling relegation he was constantly giving the players days off so he could go on holiday, rather than trying to coach them out of bad form. Shows how Howe has been able to make such a vast improvement in little time by just being dedicated to the role.

Mourhino over wenger is a shocker for me, I like faysal but his arguments are so inconsistent. Mourhino career outside the premier definitely clouds his decision making. Ranieri didn’t make his list because it was “1 season” but he argued about how mourhino won the league when he came back to Chelsea even though he finished 10th the next season. Wenger got 20 years in a row of champions league football, that stat is crazy enough alone, invincible season, doesn’t matter about the draws it’s still a historical premier event and with the money Wenger was dealt with it’s outrageous what he achieved. Players today want join arsenal because of what Wenger built. Top 3 managers in the prem should be a given.

Faysal is right, you can slightly compare the lack of funds and backing of Wenger’s tenure through mourinhoS UTD team where though he spent money it was not at all any of the players he really needed. Even with that he came 2nd (though a very weak premier league quality league at the time) mourinho also created a dynasty across two different time periods and especially the second stint where he really created a fluid and attacking team that was still great defensively

Salah works hard bro did you not see last night he sprinted back to the pen spot to tackle an Ajax player, if we lost Salah and had Mané we’d be even worse. The reason we’ve been poor isn’t cuz of losing Mané it’s cuz we lost our midfield. Mané is better than Diaz but he’s still doing the role well and pressing well. Mané couldn’t do Salah’s role. Also Jota back is big I don’t think Nunez is ready yet.

I disagree with you though that Mane can’t play Salah’s role, he actually can and he’s shown that he can do that before as well. Id argue it’s actually the opposite that Salah can’t do the Mane role, I truly believe the pressure Mane would apply is what set the tone for Liverpools side. Just because he’s not getting as many goals Salah I believe is the reason he was let go and ultimately I don’t think they valued his contributions as much as they should’ve

@@TheNomadicAceG But he hasn’t proven it my guy, Salah’s role is to get goals and assists from that right hand side, Mané’s best 2 seasons are 22+1 (18/19) and 18+7 (19/20), Salah’s last 2 seasons beat those stats 22+5 (20/21) and 23+13 (21/22) and that’s not even including his record breaking year. I love Mané so this isn’t me slandering him but he’s just not as good as Salah for that role in the team.

Here's the thing. Through the years we're going to see a lot of managers doing the longevity thing. It's going to become normal. E.g if Arteta (a good manager) goes through the years without winning the prem he's ultimately just going to be viewed as one of those longevitity/sustainable managers. Poch is underrated, ik he didn’t win anything but he turned Tottenham into a team that were a part of multiple title races. People like Moyes and Redknapp r good managers but they’ve never had consistent top 4 seasons in the way poch had where he made us one of the best teams in the world. He’d be in the bottom half of my top 10 for sure.
