1:05:50 That's The storyline of any random road trip with a Landy 😂. You break the bank in the gas station and the parts store, drive through some terrain most people can't navigate on foot, pul a couple of Toyotas out of a ditch, fix 2/3 of the damn thing on the side of the road, get a sore ass from all the vibration and the nice comfy seats and still somehow you knowingly decide to do all that again 😅😅😅 and again 😂😂😂

@nikhill69173 ай бұрын
I noticed the same thing and wondered if anyone else did. Would recommend blowing air from the clean side of the filter to the dirty side of the filter. That way dust blows out of the filter without having to travel all the way through the filter. It’ll perform better and last longer this way.

Always add some car-oil on the rubber seal of the air-filter . . .it traps all dust and seals better.

Thermostat is a separate plastic item on a TD5 not in the head - The piece they are missing for the rad fan shroud is an intermediate plastic frame the attaches to the radiator using the two holes in the rad and two clips at the bottom, and lastly if that machine is supposed to have been a "ready for sale" Land Rover the place that sold it needs to have a serious chat with themselves.....

Little trick with Td5 cooling systems. When you need to bleed the system, you need raise the header tank above the height of the engine by 100 mm (4 inches) with the engine running and the cap removed because, believe it or not, air gets trapped in there and causes all sorts of issues.

So, this is basically exactly like like every Land Rover "trip" I have ever tagged along on. I was usually the odd man out with my Toyota, but it was always the same. The videos and the photos afterwards were always, oh.. here is where we had to stop and fix this. Here is where it overheated. At the end of every day on the tracks, the LR guys all had their hoods up and were crawling under their rigs looking for something. I felt obligated to open my own hood to check if the engine was still there. The LRs mostly always got them to the end, but holy crap did they need a lot of maintenance. Though, it seemed to me, for the LR folks, that was most of the fun.
