Regarding the shooting grenades myth; they're _supposed_ to have a five-second fuse, but there's some variance due to manufacturing vagaries. Apparently grenades with chemical fuses can vary in fuse time from as long as seven seconds, to as short as three. The common myth of cooking the grenade is just that. Militaries train their troops to get rid of a grenade with a lit fuse as soon as possible (if they for some reason release the spoon before throwing). (There's more recent grenade models with a digital fuse that are far more consistent, but even so; I wouldn't want to keep hold of a live grenade with a running fuse!)

I am a combat engineer and a mechanical engineer. Just after 40:00, the explosion started at the front of the truck and quickly move to the rear. The explosive used seems to be very low in the high explosive range or vise-versa.

Adam said the reason they didn't use a real grenade was they couldn't get it in his KZbin channel Tested. I always thought that was funny, they can get RPG, Minigun, F-18, U-2, rockets, and countless big bombs, but they can't get a real grenade?

It’s because of the rules around what the law calls “destructive devices” (explosives, but generally anything bigger than a .50 cal) in the US, you’d have to get NFA paperwork for every single grenade which would have been $200 a piece and a year of waiting in those days. Probably just not worth the hassle.

Those shooting tests are unreliable for me after all, i mean if you only hit the grenade at like half an meter to meter... well you better hit it... shouldve tested at longer distance. probably wouldnt hit most then ...

@@YuriHabadakas well in fairness, the delays here are kinda insane ish. And you might get 1 shot off, whilst hoping to ideally not shoot yourself in the leg/foot . This here is like perfect optimum conditions, i mean you saw how the throw fared for the pistol. And what is the impact of actually hitting that grenade at like 4/5 meter away and not just 1 meter where the impact / exit speed is the highest?
