Never released this recording is a rare recording performed live for their Springfield Missouri radio show in 1950
They released a different version of this song where Helen sings verses with Anita on RCA Victor.
This song was written by the Anita Carter also known as "The Appalachian Angel"
She plays bass and her sister Helen plays accordion.

This is an incredible recording. Thank you so much for posting. Is it commercially available at all? This song should have gone down as a standard through the ages - just beautiful. I much prefer this version over the RCA one with Helen.

I agree with you , that this is an incredible recording , no it is not commercially available yet But there are a number of songs on the Radiozark transcripts that were wonderful recordings of Anita and even Helen that could go commercial. I am writing a book about Helen, June and Anita Carter and the Radiozark recordings are a big reason among reasons why the book is being written. There are a lot of recordings like this were only heard in 1949/50 never sold to the public and passed down to friends of the family. These recordings are wonderful. Check out some the hymns on my You Tube Channel, And Check out "How I Spell Ireland". I am still working on editing more songs off the original unedited recordings.

This is a very rare recording only played on the radio in 1949/50 on their KWTO nationally syndicated radio show, Anita wrote this song but never recorded it on a record label singing it solo. This is an awesome recording of a 16 year old Anita in my humble opinion. I love it ! thanks for your interest. I am currently writing a book about the Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle Era. How old was Anita Carter when this recording was made. I believe she was born in 1933, which would put her at 17. Honestly, Anita sounds much younger than 17. Love the recording, though. Love anything with Anita Carter.

@@tonylupo1764 could it be that she didn’t have the personality? Reminds me of my favorite country singer of last 25 years - Lee Ann Womack - fabulous voice, beauty, songs - but didn’t move on stage, no real emotion. Ps: I’m a psychiatrist. Keep em coming!
