God, Tony, you've sent me this at 1.40 in the morning and there's nothing I can do but listen to these beautiful girls pick and sing, like they did all their lives. But I have to sleep sometime, you know.

What a beautiful, talented family! The girls sound like angels. No wonder Hank Williams said he never wanted to follow their performances.

Thanks Nadya , Where did you read that Hank said that? I am writing a book about the Carter Sisters

Tony Lupo I've read every biography about Hank. I love the Carter family, also. I read in several biographies that Hank remarked to his bandmates: "I never want to follow those broads again." Funny, he'd use that language, when he'd asked Anita to marry him. I could watch their duet on Kate Smith's show video over and over. The love they had for each other was palpable.

Nadya Rossi i just ordered the updated (2004) biography of Hank by Colin Escott. Question..which biography talks about the Carters/ Hanks relationship the most. The best video on You Tube is the Anita Carter / Hank Williams duet .Watched it many many times and will watch it some more. The Carter Sisters with their mom is the most talented all female "band" thst I've ever heard. Their lifes work combined is astounding as a group and solo artists.

Tony Lupo You will enjoy the Escott book. I know you've probably read Lucrecia's book, Jett William's book and Paul Hemphill's book. It's in there, I promise.

I wish they were still here, real country music, don't care to much for today's country

after listening to anita and helen it makes you wonder where so-called modern country music went bad. i can't think of a single artist who can hold a candle to them.

Anita sacrificed her own ego for the FAMILY.. and JUNE found a way through Comedy and emceeing but don't underestimate their abilities as Songwriter's & Arrangers.and Helen was a Master at nearly any instrument...Cheers Dave

Thanks Bill , I love these songs sung by these Girls, listening to them is really good for the soul! I am currently working on the 3rd early years tribute to Helen and Anita, I will get to the 50s and 60s and 70s eventually. They were awesome! Helen had a beautiful voice and sacrificed for the family as well, but these Girls had a lot of fun traveling thousands and thousands of miles singing like angels!
