This bike is extremely efficient for a bike in that price range. You can climb everything with the sensation of lightness. Very well built.

I agree. It's not the lightest bike on the market, but the sub 20lb weight and lightweight wheels / tires are great for climbing.

Is the only difference on the AF model the aluminum frame? Would you rate that similarly given the clearance price it is on?

The Van Rysel EDR AF has a different frame and rim brake setup. It's a bit of a dated setup (most new bikes are disc only) so I personally wouldn't buy it unless it's under $1k.

Great question. I'm not sure if this specific model is UCI legal, but based on it's design I would be surprised if it wasn't - there isn't anything highly aero in the design. The wheelset is an aluminum Fulcrum Racing 700 DB - which are not bad. A full carbon wheelset would definitely increase the price of the bike and something the higher-end Van Rysel bikes may offer.

It's a great deal at $2200. Like most Decathlon bikes... they seem to be "sold out" 90% of the time. You really have to get lucky to buy some of these bikes.

dang, us prices are not attractive at all, i could spend around 2600usd here in Taiwan and buy a GIANT TCR ADVANCED DISC 1 KOM which comes with 105 di2, i bet canyon bikes aren't even this expensive.

It seems like the US import taxes really drive up the prices of Decathlon and other imported bikes. In the UK or Europe, the Van Rysel Ultegra version is a steal.

Have a look at Decathlon Germany it’s only € 2199 or § 2499 for You get the same bike with Ultegra don’t know though wether have the Between your buttocks arse torture Saddle 51 years old started running and trailrunning for 3 years as a Dutchman in Austria cycling is normal but not on race bike … My wife and I are looking for our First race endurance bike this is a serious option Decathlon is GREAT 👍 love their Kiprun Running Love their Evadict Trailrunning gear love their Van Rysel cyclist clothing

The European pricing is a lot more attractive than the US one for this bike. For $2500 a carbon bike with full Shimano Ultegra 11-speed setup is a no-brainer. I'm not sure why it's so much more expensive here in the US.

@TheSweetCyclists that's the same with Ribble Bikes here in the EU... Ribble had excellent, highly customizable Offerings at very competitive Prices... Than came Brexit which was a Brilliant Idea... NOT! now Taxes a ruining Ribbles Changes a bit here.... Such a pity 🤧🚵‍♀️🇬🇧
