Loved this video. Head and Babolat feelings are two opposite worlds. For me personaly I always pick Babolat. Aero VS is my racket of choice but I also love the Pure Drive and I cant wait to test this new Pure Aero. Never been a Head guy, though the extreme MP specifically feels nice in my hands

Just got an Ezone Tour to do some long time testing. The perfect racquet needs to play to your strength, to the date I tried to mitigate my weakness instead (backhand, one handed), which now feels wrong. The Ezone gives me unlimited potential, I can break the sound barrier and still keep the ball inside due to generous control and spin both at the same time. Can't wait to get my hands on a regna, but Yonex does not sell to Europe.

The Regna would be so cool. AC Tennis did a video on one and he really intrigued me. I think you made the right move to go for a racquet that compliments your strengths. I do the same.

I’d say that the EZone 100 plays more similar to the Pure Aero than the Extreme. The weight distribution felt similar and I had similar forehand issues with the EZone. I found the feel on the Yonex to be more muted than the Extreme but also slightly more solid feeling.

The reason you cant get lag on your forehand is because you are always getting jammed up, way too close to the body. the reason you feel you need to get close to rhe body is because you are too western. you should aim to change your grip to be more semi western, and take the racket back like shapo, he creates amazing space.

As the Head MP didn’t fit your play, the Babolat racquets doesn’t work for me. I play really bad with any Babolat racquet. Head speed pro is my racquet of choice. Perfect control and just enough power. For more power just lower the tension a bit and Voila!!🎉

I have the same issue with the EZONE 100 that I have with the Pure Aero. I can't develop the racquet lag due to the weight distribution of the frame. Beckett, don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I really think you need to bring a couple Dunlops into the fray: the SX 300 Tour and FX 500 Tour. I know Dunlop is not as much of a click-magnet as Babolat or Head, but ignoring that, I think they merit a serious look. They retain the same 6-point HL strung balance as your ET, allowing for similar forehand lag and whip, but the SX300T also incorporates the same beam width from its 100" brother, for more power, and the FX500T a bit slimmer but more stiffness, for a similar result. Presuming either one gives you enough feel, you could find a winner there. I'd love to see you include one or both in an upcoming analysis, for your benefit and ours! All the best as you continue your journey.
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
You are right. I'm going to visit Courtside next weekend and do a big demo session. My buddy is a Dunlop sponsored player and he uses the SX300 Tour but its heavily modified to more weight than I can handle. I also want to try the CX200. The CEO of VT Advantec uses the CX200 and we have pretty similar taste in racquets. The FX500 Tour looks cool too, but I'm worried the twistweight is too high. New ones coming out soon I think as well.
@outcometechnology
@outcometechnology Жыл бұрын
@@TennCom That's great news. SX/FX higher TW's, yes, but as a benefit they're both more stable than the ET in stock form. As such, the FX500T mod I find most common is simply a bit of lead at 12 plus an overgrip or two, which increase centerline mass and effectively *lower* the twist weight, so you can very quickly get back down towards what you're used to with the ET. Just for kicks, I would try the regular FX 500 as well. And yes, the new FX series is near, including the 500 Tour with a lower 65-66RA instead of the higher 69-70. Also, for the CX series, the 200 and 200 Tour are pretty low powered, so increasing power has to come more or less via weight and/or stringing lower, which I'm not sure will be your cup of tea. You might try the CX 400 Tour as well -- 100" 23mm beam in the vein of a Speed/Speed Pro. Best of luck with the session!

I find the Pure Aero is better for hitting flat shots and can also hit great controlled spin. The aero also seems to have more power but I have to get my technique right which is good my game. Interestingly I didn’t like the Aero when I first got it and left it for my Speed MP but I have come back to it as it has more spin than the Speed MP. So I am going with the Aero and excited to see how my game goes in the spring summer. Thanks for video.

Now I can not only hit spins with it, but also flatter straight shots. It is also an excellent racket for one handed backhands. I have tried a lot of racquets , this is Head extreme MP so it can do everything fine and rock hard. I suggest you make a review with this 10 grams plus, it will be worth it. @TennCom Жыл бұрын
We had tested both of these racquets with a variety of string setups. We always start with our baseline of Grapplesnake Tour Sniper at 52lbs as it's a very neutral string that doesn't dominate the feel of the racquet. We also tested RPM Power, Signum Pro Polyplasma, Lynx Tour and I think a few others that I can't remember since its been a while. Neither of us found either of these racquets to be especially string sensitive.

I played a match this weekend with a guy who was using the TiS6 frame. He is in his mid-sixties ,4.0-4.5 singles player. I’m a 74 year old 3.8-4.0 singles player. I use the Head Auxetic Speed pro, strung with a gut/ rpm blast hybrid. He strung his racquet with Hyper G 17 at 58lbs. He won. He produced lots of pace and attacked my backhand. I was not happy with my one-hander: not a lot of racket head speed, no pace ( maybe because i’m trying to adjust my BH grip a bit) Anyway, I played a few games with his TiS6:Holy Crap, I was ripping the ball all over the place, especially my backhand. I still prefer the Extreme MP to a lot of 100 square inch racquets out there. The Extreme performs worse than the PA100 in a lot of areas, from a top down "objective" point of view, but my game can't necessarily take advantage of those strengths. If you were able to catch the end of the video, you'll see that I still picked the Extreme as my preferred racquet. Its not that we are flip flopping our opinions, its that different videos have different contexts. The original Extreme MP review was produced before we had tried the new Pure Aero, and more specifically references improvements from the previous version, whereas this video is a direct comparison to a single racquet.

@@TennCom Thanks for the clarification. The Prestige Auxetic 2021 100" MP (former tour) CPI 400, should maybe suit your game quite well. A tad more flexi and control oriented than the Avocado Extreme MP (CPI 500). some reviwers with older playstyle have given it slightly better grades than the avocado. I think I would not play well with the pure aero. I was taught tennis in the 90's I like pure Storm GT, now Pure strike and the innegra Prestige + auxetic Prestige. Some Prestiges in between are garbage.

Hi Beckett, I'm a mostly baseline but increasingly allcourt OHBH 4.0-4.5 player. Played with a Pure strike gen2 100 for 5 years with no arm issues using Technifibre Black code 4s 17, and it was a spin monster but still with good feel and reasonable control. Until a few months ago I restrung it too tight and I got tennis elbow. It was always a fight to stabilise that frame and always felt it was too slow for volleys once weighted to stabilise, so switched to a slightly weighted ET 360+ based on one of your videos. Love the manoeuvrability of the ET, and can play for hours with no pain, but sometimes I feel like it's a bit weak for OHBH. It came with Head Lynx, and now needs a restring. Before adding more weight, I'm going to put Black Code 4S which is stiffer than Head Lynx on it but not sure whether to string tighter at 53lbs or go softer at 48lbs. I want to keep the control of the ET but add a bit more spin potential and hopefully stability. Also concerned if Black Code being square will increase launch angle and reduce control. What tension would you recommend?
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
I actually have never tried Blackcode 4S so I'm not sure how that will pan out. I do like the idea of using you "go to" string in a new racquet because I think it helps to control the variables, giving you an opportunity to get to know your new stick. When switching strings, I really only expect the strings to adjust the launch angle and the contact feel. In my ET, I prefer a mild shape. Even Lynx Tour is a bit more shaped than I prefer. My goal is always to find a string setup that encourages me to use as much force as possible in every shot, which is why I've start moving away from more shaped strings. Sorry for that vague answer.
@thecharliec5393
@thecharliec5393 Жыл бұрын
That answer actually does help, thanks. I'm quite used to the ET already, just after just a little more bite on FH and stability on OHBH (head swing weight issue I think). I guess it's still worth a punt to see if BC4S works and keeps control but I suspect I agree with you it might be too much. A plain 18 gauge could be a better bet based on what you say (any suggestions?) Also are the auxetic variants a major improvement for OHBH? I like the finesse of the Tour but might have to try the MP.

I would just put it at 12 unless you have torsional stability issues. Then put at 3 and 9

Hello TennCom, i love your videos buat i want to ask about 100sq and 98dq. Should i switch to aero 100sq or maybe wait for the 98sq version?
@TennCom

I think just wait. It should only be one month before they are released!

Great video, certainly one I've been waiting for as I am considering both the Aero and the Extreme MP, as well as the Speed MP. I pick-up a 2023 Pure Aero as a demo and after playing with it for 2 weeks I loved how much confidence I gained with my forehand. I really felt like I couldn't miss a shot. BUT my one-handed backhand felt very unstable and I haven't been able to figure it out. Next week I'll pick up an Extreme MP to demo to compare. My current racquet is a 2012 Blade 98. Any advice is highly appreciated

Have you tried the EZONE 100? Probably the best stability of the 100s I’ve tried lately but great directional as well.

How does the Pure Aero 23 compare to the Ezone 100 22?
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
pretty similar. I think the Bab is more muted and the Yonex feels more solid. Yonex swings maybe a tiny bit faster, but this will vary depending on QC between units. Stability is a little better on the Yonex, but the Aero gives you nice feedback on off-centre shots so you can diagnose your misses more easily. I really like both frame and I don't think you can really go wrong here.

@@TennCom how do their stringbed performance compare? Probably more spin and higer launch angle with the Aero maybe?
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
@@esrf123 no, the opposite. The Extreme is slightly more open and the Aero is slightly more dense. I get easier flat balls and more knifing slices with the Aero, whereas the lightness of the Extreme helps me whip up the back of topspin shots for more topspin.

@@TennCom thanks a lot for your replies! How bout the stringbed performance of the ezone 100 compared to the aero23? I cannot decide between the 2 racquets as I dont have a way to demo racquets in our area.

They are pretty close. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of you are looking for a stability oriented 100 square inch racquet

Do you find it different than the Pro?
@kevinkchew
@kevinkchew Жыл бұрын
@@TennCom def. it's way more responsive than the pro; the slightly more open string pattern helps. i'm not a fan of the pro but love the mp with some weight added at 3 and 9. i'll have to try the new generation extremes. the last one i tried was the youtek extreme pro, which i go back and forth on.

Like the flex of the graphite. Ok really like the string pattern in the Pro, it was the frame and flex of the Speed that I didn’t like

@@TennCom There, I said it. I demoed the new Aero on 2 separate occasions. It's OK, but still a long way off from from the Aero Pro Drive GT. The thing I don't like about it is that it forces you to swing a certain way. It's not for flattening the ball out, etc. It needs to be swung hard with a lot of brush for it to be effective.
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
@@feistybastard I agree completely. I feel forced into playing a certain with the Aero which is why I didn't pick it to win this test. I don't think that makes it a bad racquet though, because if you already play in a way that suits the Aero, its a excellent racquet.
