About the 13:30 mark, Decker describes the big inmate as "Regular". Seriously? This big inmate is 300 pounds, if he's an ounce!!! He's huge!!! (Fortunately, he's not too smart). He ends up getting electrified just a little bit later in the movie, sooooo... not everything is a total loss... just the big ol' baddie!!! Gotta agree with you on this one, Decker-This movie gets a perfect 5 out of 5 rating in my opinion, too! The bad guys get what's coming to them...and so do Tango and Cash, what with Tango being reunited with the Police Force, and his money, and Cash marrying Tango's sister-Making these two Mavericks Brother-In-Laws! All's well that ends well.

I own this brilliant 2 guys action movie that seems to use most 80s action tropes in 1 movie. It's over the top hollywood action movie with a Kingpin that simply loves being a pure evil bad guy like he's another Skeletor, 2 opposite kind of protagonists,, loyal as hell effective right hand man, the babe serving as a damsel plus other memorable characters. Great acting, great memorable lines, great scenes, amazing 100 mph climax, terrific action, great colorful characters, great drama, right mix of serious and funny, believable surprises or twists. A masterpiece action movie that I proudly own on dvd.

Great review, as always!!!!!! This was THE "buddy cop" movie of the 80's. The "Lethal Weapon" series is great, but it's a bit more serious. This was more of a cartoon...which is I want in an action film from the 80's. Stallone and Russell in a film together??? 1,000% of PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!! And the one-liners??? They're so bad....that they're really, really BAD.

2:10 We're probably meant to assume that he's swapping ammo types. 2:50 The cartridges are actually still at his feet! Kudos for continuity. 2:55 Robert Z'Dar was in everything. 8:06 What was the deal with top-mounted laser markers in the '80s? Not only were they oversized, but they were almost always mounted on top, obscuring the sights. 13:15 See also Aeon Flux (I mean the original Liquid Television Aeon Flux), multiple instances throughout the Half-Life 2 episodes, and Borderlands 2. 15:15 Two classic and timeless choices right there. Remington 870: Been around since 1950 and still going strong. FN Hi-Power: Been around since 1935 and still going strong. 15:23 That's a different Remington 870. Unless they expect us to believe that he took the time to add an extended magazine tube and a top-folding stock. My only gripe is that he leaves the stock folded, but movie people always do that because they're incompetent about such things. 16:08 Firing a 12-gauge one-handed like that is actually not as bad as some might think. Basically like firing a really high-powered pistol. That is, if you have enough forward weight. 18:44 Check out that incompetent cross-thumb grip (only useful with single-action revolvers). You wanna get slide-bite? Cuz that's how you get slide-bite. 20:22 Another perma-folded stock. For fuck's sake, are literally *ALL* movie people incompetent?! 20:39 I've never understood why it's so hard for some people to keep that straight. A clip is a device, other than a speedloader, used for loading a magazine or cylinder. 23:17 Unfold the stock for fuck's sake.
@leewright14 жыл бұрын
It looked cool that the hero didn't need to use the stock. That's the reason, no incompetence for the most part, just coked up masculinity.

This despicable 80's action movie uses all of the worst conventions of that genre and so.. yeah.. I love it and it's awesome. Modern gritty realism is fantastic Next Gen story telling weapon in movies like Zero Dark 30 but in modern day action movies it is a disease. Bring back charisma. Bring back silly. Bring back big heros who don't have to explain or excuse their behavior. I want to sit back in a theater and watch shit blow to a Harold Faltemeyer soundtrack that is SO cool it seems like it coming out of the air conditioner.
