I had to let go of clutter to heal from past trauma and stop the current chaos. This personal story is close to my heart and one I felt was worth sharing.

Dear Connie, I’m sitting in front of boxes with old pictures (from my youth and before my traumatic event), and bags labeled ‘for my future baby’. Sigh.. Stored at my parents’ house, covered in a thin layer of dust…. I am choosing me. I am choosing freedom. Be in the moment, not in a ‘but what if’- bubble. I aim to feel light. Happy. Facing and accepting, letting go with love. But oh man, this is hard… Your videos are blessings beyond words. Thank you for being with me on this journey xx

When I lost most everything, I felt as though I had died. I think it was a death of who I thought I was. My identity didn't return and I still feel uncertain about it. Love and blessings ♥️🙏

I was a minimalist. I married a man a little over three years ago who is a collector of all the things. We didn’t live together beforehand. He hid a lot of it with cabinets and storage at his old house. He buys SO MUCH stuff. We have an enormous house with way too much stuff in it. Before him I had a small apartment with barely anything. I cannot stand clutter. Now? There is no calm or peace. Thankfully I have my own room, office, and bathroom. I had to! When I saw all of the things he had when we bought our house I was overwhelmed. We had a shared bedroom and bathroom until his stuff forced me to claim my own space in our home. Every single space is filled with his things and there is an Amazon delivery every day…at least once. I do not know what to do. He says over and over that he has gotten rid of a lot, but he hasn’t and won’t. Every cabinet, drawer, EVERYTHING is full & we have space for DAYS. He’s used it all. I just want to be in a small space with zero clutter and only essentials for survival and a few pretty details. Any suggestions? I cannot keep doing this. We have talked and talked and he won’t change. I don’t argue about it, but feel so so sooooooo bad in our big, “should be” beautiful home.

When we planned out our life together for retirement I found it painful to sell, donate etc all our household goods so we could sell our house, buy an RV and travel. It took me awhile to come to terms with things and memories. We traveled for 15 years with the mindset of buying anything meant something had to go. Four years ago we stopped traveling but we still live in our RV. For some reason I’ve stuffed every nook and cranny with ‘stuff’. So once again I’m decluttering with the dream of moving out of the RV into a small apartment. You are helping me declutter

Hey Connie I feel peace and a sense of direction from your story I’ve been over 2 years on my minimalist journey I’ve been stuck for 2 months due to some family issues but I’m taking a grip of myself and I’m going to delete more than clutter I’m moving on to being who I want to be so I can find some personal peace and be content with myself knowing I’m living life as I want to thank you

I have always had allot of fear behind stuff. To fill up cause l was so empty inside. As l am finding that inner beauty....outside beauty of stuff no longer made sense. I hired a large skip....and began. Filled to the top. Then l began being practical, if not needed or supported me...gone. my walls of art l cleared. My home is now fresh, airey, and lovely to quickly clean. Nothing comes in and an item per day goes. My depression is lifting also.

I have so many antiques that were passed down to me. I’m just about ready to let some things go. I don’t have the space in my house I bought 4 years ago. I went from 4000 sq ft to 1000sq ft N I’m feeling like I’m just wall to wall furniture It’s hard due to I inherited these items but it’s just too much I feel like a family hug though

I'm in a place where I have to move, because the owner wants to live in the house. It came as a shock and now I am in deep decluttering mood, as I have to downsize, due to huuuge rental costs here in Athens, Greece. I also have an 18 year old son who is just about to start university, so it couldn't have been a more unsuitable period for me. I also need to sell. I sympathise. Thanks for this video!!!

Of course she's right, possessions are not what ultimately matter. Having lots of things that you love or few, that's not the point. The point is inner contentment in who you are and your ability to connect with others. Then, whether you have a lot of things or few things, they won't matter to you in the same way.
