😂😂😂 I have a funny story about your video, Diane. I have been struggling with insomnia recently, so have bought myself some ear buds to listen to relaxing podcasts when I’m awake in the night. Last night I was naughty and, instead of going straight to the podcast and trying to sleep, I played this video. My husband normally stays asleep, but perhaps the bright light disturbed him. This morning, as we were drinking our coffee (set on timer the night before, sitting next to a shiny sink 😇) he cautiously asked ‘Why were you watching a lady folding clothes in the middle of the night?!’ Oooops! I suppose it might seem like an odd thing to do 😳 As always, thank you for your content and inspiration.

Very true. One thing she didn't mention is that once you get your color rainbow. the colors that work best for you, accessorizing including purses and shoes becomes much simpler... Really, anything you purchase going forward will fit into your outfits.

I have too many clothes. Three weeks ago I decided to create a capsule wardrobe for the week and this means I am mixing and matching much more successfully and also I am wearing things like jumpers and trousers a couple of times before putting in the laundry basket. Anything close to my skin, underwear, socks and base layers and shirts go in the basket, anything stained equally so. This has reduced my laundry and made my behaviour more mindful. At the start of the next week on a Sunday, i put everything worn in the laundry and start a fresh capsule. Often doing a try on, discarding anything worn or which no longer fits. There is no longer a mystery as to what to wear and no longer the need to try everything on in order to match an outfit. Real difference. I also make a note of gaps in the wardrobe to be sourced.

Hello Diane I have just started watching your videos and they are Great and so helpful😊 I have ordered the Sink Reflections book and managed to get it online second hand for £10.00 which is a great price as full price was £35.00. I love love your videos and anxiously wait for each one. I have watched all of them during this lockdown (for me it has been since March when I left my job). I was doing so well.. then Christmas came -and went- along with my drive and spirit. This malaise is breaking my heart because I felt so connected before...and my home felt like a treat. I have kept up with the morning and evening routine...(yes, I have my lace up shoes on, clothes snd hair snd makeup!) but the rest is just overwhelming to consider! It is easy as I live alone in a tiny and decluttered home, but I don’t do the cleaning as well as I used to and it just makes me sad. I love that your wardrobe is original to the house. Art Deco is my favourite architectural era. My own little nest is a Victorian (1880) terraced. Sadly, all original features gone, long before we moved in.

My wardrobe is full of work clothes for an office, lots of dresses, trousers and blouses. Problem is now I’m WFH I am lost as to what to wear. I do use the blouses, paired with leggings (no one sees my bottom half) but I don’t like to wear leisure wear whilst working as my mind doesn’t get into work mode as easily. I think I need to build in more smart semi casual items to fill out my “weekend” wardrobe and which look smart enough to be on zoom if needs be. I used to use that coat-hanger thing to divide my work & non-work clothes. Now that I've retired, I'll use them as you suggest. Also, another tip I picked up somewhere was to arrange my clothes on a rail, so that I take from the left and put clean things back on the right. That way, it becomes very obvious what items never make it to the left and get stuck in the middle.

Lovely video... Great inspiration and ideas... Thank you! I have a really deep wardrobe... So I do the same as you.. ConMari my clothes in clear plastic boxes I can pull out. It's great to find everything, and it controls how much you have because it all has to fit in the plastic boxes (not get stuffed in the deep shelves) ...and the IKEA white nylon dividers are great from small stuff in draws. I also used the IKEA white nylon shoe boxes in my wardrobe for all my shoes, that I am not wearing.. The ones I am wearing at present are downstairs at the front door. I still need to sort my jewelry again so I change it out more.

Those sweater shades are perfect for you! My uniform is usually jeans, thermals and work boots! Finishing up some outdoor work before weather comes in. Fixed an easy dinner and taking a break with some hot tea. Tonight is trash night, so the usual sift through the house before the bin goes out by the road( takes 15 minutes tops)

Hi Linda! I usually fold my trousers in half, then in three, and they fit nicely in my drawer. I look out my outfit the day before, and hang my top/trousers on the back of our bedroom door. Haven't had problems with wrinkling.

I think Dawn from The Minimal Mom had a video about this not so long ago. She spoke about how you make home/launge clothes comfy and comfortable but presentable. If you need to run an errand you don't need to change or be embarrassed by surprise guest. I mean, it can still be black leggings and an oversized top. But make it hygge-ly ❤

Being in the habit (thanks to you) of putting my outfit together the day before I plan to wear it saved me today. Everything has been a bit off kilter, time has been doing sprints (from dead stop to full sprint) and I am too far ahead, then blink and I am behind. But, having certain things, like my clothing, ready to go has gotten me to the other side today. Now, it’s time to relax and get good sleep...so I’ll be prepared if/when it happens tomorrow.
