I think you two are doing a great job. I think I commented before that when the last of my parents passed away, my sisters and I had to declutter their house. And my dad was a master at filling every single nook and cranny. We had to rent a big dumpster and filled it 3 or 4 times. Plus so much stuff that went to Goodwill. It was physically and mentally draining. And I'm no spring chicken! It's so important to get away from "we might need it someday." Those are the worst words in the English language. LOL LOL Keep up the good work and don't ever let it get you down. It's a daunting task, I know, but one day you'll look around and breathe a sigh of relief. It'll be done and it'll be beautiful.

You both are very motivating! I lost my step dad and brother 7 weeks apart from each other so i completely understand. They were both hoarders and terrible housekeepers so i had my work cut out for me. The waves of grief can be so frustrating. I once lost it at the deli counter of my grocery store because the bologna reminded me so much of my brother. Those poor deli workers! ❤

Great job ladies!. I like those nice deep drawers under the microwave. When I declutter and can't decide if I should keep it I ask myself if I can replace it for 20.00 or under. If I can out it goes. We just moved our mobile home and we had to take everything out because of weight restrictions. Anyway it was a great opportunity to declutter. A bit overwhelming at times but we did it. You'll get there. Bless both of you. Your sweethearts.

Watching from Australia. That intro was beautiful. So tragic for those involved. That dust that gathers up high in a kitchen is something else, isn't it. You're doing a lovely job. The Spacemaker also says clean, declutter, then organise! She also says don't buy any containers until you've been through everything. As you empty things you'll gather collection for your reorganisation stage. You can decide then if they are suitable. You are correct, you just have to pick a spot. And to be honest, as much as we'd like it all done as soon as possible, the decluttering part needs to sit with you sonetimes. Depending on the volume of stuff, it might be hundreds and hundreds of decisions and that is taxing on our brains. I'm of the school that its ok to go over things in a couple of passes if necessary. I've found myself letting go effortlessly on the 3rd or 4th go. I've had to accept the time this takes.
