In the example you gave "他这个人很强", could that also be interpreted to mean you are saying he is physically strong? I'm guessing it would depend on context right?

Yes, it depends on the context. Complimenting someone as "very strong" can be used in various scenarios. This term can be applied to physical strength, abilities, or willpower. For example, if you see someone at the gym deadlifting twice their body weight, you can say, 【哇,他好强,这半年他进步好快】He has improved so much in the past six months." (physical strength) Another example is if a colleague completes a task in one day that usually takes others three days, you can praise them by saying,【哇,好强,这么快就做完了】 You finished so quickly." (work ability) Additionally, 【我看到过坐轮椅的人滑雪,他们很强】I have seen people in wheelchairs skiing. (I am praising their willpower and the strength of their actions)

@@Lily_Chinese I see, that makes sense to me. I initially thought there might be something different used for referring to ability. Thank you very much, the examples help a lot.
