@@jordancapps9521 actually they just steal full cars and get them to Latvia on a shipping container, I'm from Estonia, Latvia is my neighborhood, our border patrol catches a lot of car thieves from Latvia that steal premium brands here (and not only), as well as brand new common brands as well. In Eastern Europe we don't have requirements for checking VIN number of parts or engine number, as long as your number plates match the car, police won't bother you unless your plates are reported as stolen. Latvia is also notorious for selling vehicles made out of 4 cars (you take 4 totalled cars and you assemble a one full one) as we don't have any car titles like US does.

This reminds me of when I was 18 and I shredded a fender on my 87 Sentra (caught air on a bump on my road, lost control, took out a mailbox and road sign, regained control and kept driving). My stepdad told me I had to fix it. Since I made less than $5/hr there was no way I could afford the body shop so I found the parts at a local junkyard (pulled them off myself) and rebuilt the driver’s side front end in our barn on my own with a set of Craftsman tools. Big difference between a 1987 Sentra and a Maybach... but I appreciate Hoovie’s labor of love.

That metallic bright green paint job wasn't much to look at anyway. By the time it was done it had a very nice metallic maroon & silver paint job with black details, panels & pin striping. Night & day difference. Oh-oh, better get Maaco.

This will definitely be interesting to see her come apart! But a serious question Part Out?

That's the smart way, not the Hoovie way.
@NigelMK3 жыл бұрын
I mean, if you think about it, Hoovie could of made more money from this car by parting it out than what he’ll get by fixing it up and trying to sell it. Especially since a door alone is apparently going for 5K

That's what I'd do... He'd probably make some decent money doing it too!

Amazing that so much parts survived the impact. Don’t change the wood. It would be a nice conversation piece if the wood trim on one of the doors would be a different color. As long as it’s neat.

Auto parts from Latvia are highly scrutinized. I wonder why? 🤔

Cheap auto parts from eastern europe are most likely ripped off from stolen cars.

But jokes aside, apparantly the legal market for restoring classics is pretty big in eastern europe, including the baltics.

In Latvia they usually steal headlights, side mirrors or a whole car if that particular model is popular in nearby Dictator run countries, otherwise, your car is "safe" here. Hi from Latvia!
