yeah, even on a maybach it doesn't take 10 hrs to re and re a door. You unplug the door, 4 bolts to remove it, put them side by each on a bench and pull one thing off put it on the other. I bet it won't take an hour. Maybe if there's damage and it needs to be replaced, that's one thing.

Ah, but if you own a Maybach, you won't be the one who's driving it.😉 My E500 of similar vintage says "add 1 litre of oil when next refuelling"... I never thought how weird that is until now as I don't think I've ever seen someone adding oil at a petrol station.

@@donkmeister It's a throw back to when almost all gas stations were actually "service stations". I mean there's still plenty out there where you can get your car serviced and or get gas. They aren't as prevalent as they used to be though. I'm guessing it's the same case for most petrol stations in Europe as well but I could be wrong.

Professional auto body repair, detailer here... I think you nailed it. The damage definitely DOES correspond with tractor trailer rear collision guard damage. I would say the trailer was trying to back up, next to the Maybach, got past the fender and rriver door, so he thought he was good, then clipped the rear passenger door. Then stopped, partially corrected, got off of the car, started to back up again, this time only barely touching the car. Resulting in the initial puncture, then subsequent scraping down the side, getting deeper as it reversed further. So there ya' go. I pretty much guarantee that's what happened. Probably belonged to a businessman, who owned a business involved in shipping. While parked at his place of business, one of his trucks clipped him. Explaining why a Maybach would be parked where trucks would be backing up...

WEE-ZERD! LOL! I love how he calls him that in that high pitched voice of his! And I love how they're good friends...:) The Maybach 62S has always been my ultimate DREAM car from the moment I heard about it in 2004-2005. I would NEVER pay $200K+ for a NEW Mercedes-Maybach without the Maybach emblem in the front and on the steering wheel! Hopefully that's changed for 2020 and 2021! I REALLY miss these cars! They had an opulence and luxuriousness truly in a class of its own. Between the Maybach, RR and the Bentley's it was always Maybach for me. I really wish they would update this car with a slightly more modern and updated exterior that doesn't take away from the original 57/62 and with today's tech and innovations. The current S-Class, even in the Maybach variant just doesn't have the same vibe, sadly. NOTHING compared to what this car offered in terms of its opulence and luxury and that honestly couldn't be more true today, for me.

This is for the wizard, I use a MAXISYS elite every day for work (I'm an ADAS technician), anyway, if you click the "report" function after an auto scan, it will display all the codes read instead of individually selecting the modules and pulling codes from them. You may have known this already, but with cars like this with oodles of codes, it makes it a little easier to see all of them at one time with their description.

Hey Tyler! Loved you in 'Bargain Prowler?' Before you fix it you have to film a segment where you dress up as Darth Vader and put the gash in the Maybach - the 'after' shot. Then when it's fixed, you can do the 'before' shot. Needs planning and marking out on the floor of your garage, but you can make it work!

Seen that damage on many cars. It was very likely an electric gate closing they thought they could make it through. It's always on the driver side, always about halfway down (because they thought they could clear it) and if you look, it nearly always has a drag mark and then gets deeper as the gate sets into the car.

I can send some facts from my nations police. The majority of car thefts, outboard motors, burglary etc is the baltic responsible for.

FYI on the valve cover gaskets. Sometimes leaking vcg's can be an indication of excess blow-by in the engine (piston rings or cylinder walls worn) causing high internal pressure in the engine. Not just bad gaskets. Much much worse $ than just old leaking vcg's.
