Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.
We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

Enjoyed every second of the video. I’m not really in the Christmas spirit. My children will all be out of town. My Sister found out she has end stage cancer, my brother in law has a tumor on his kidney and my brother broke his leg. This all happened in three weeks time. It’s been an emotional rollacoaster. Only recently discovered you here on KZbin through the moving to the UP video. Having also relocated here in September, I’m finding a lot of help and encouragement from your videos. I purchased a 90 year old farm house with 35 acres that will be updated over time. I have a barn, wood-shop, oversized garage and wood storage along with a greenhouse and overgrown gardens. There are also fruit trees and a black walnut tree and much more. The very first video I ever watched of your, you were decorating for Christmas and you brought out your Tom and Jerry punch bowl set and told us sweet stories. That moment I decided to look for a set for myself. In the following summer I found a man who sold items out of boxes at the NC State Fairgrounds and tucked away under a table was a Tom and Jerry punch bowl set! I paid $10! Hello from your "troll" Ann Arbor Michigan neighbor! :) Such a lovely video, especially cherishing ornaments from long ago. I still have mine from when first leaving home at 21. I divided my children's ornaments (now 37,35,and 34) and gave them to each adult child. In sadness, I would love to have the ornaments my Mom and Dad used. Specifically the manager and angel. My half sister has been handling my Mom's things very inappropriately and I have no clue where they went. Christmas memories are the best!

I’ve checked out most of the ones I have and there fine. I use a lot of vintage ones from 60’s and 70”s for everyday use. Restaurant ware. I haven’t checked out the Spode dishes, so I still need to do that. If they are really old I usually use as decor.

Cumin, thyme, oregano, and mustard all mix beautifully with pork as well. And chili powder and paprika both add spice without overpowering.
