My decorator gave me a tip when using sample pots. He said to paint a sheet of card and then you can put that on the wall and move it around to see in different lights. That way you do not have samples to paint over on the wall. I thought that was a good tip.

I think it’s a universal thing to have strange names for pets! Our cat Bella has been called Barnco, Barishnikov, Kitty, Snat, Snitty and Snittums 😹

Trick to not get makeup on your clothes is to put a silk scarf on your head so that it covers your face and slide your clothes right on! Or it doesn’t have to be silk, but silk is perfect coz its sleek and won’t ruin your makeup and hair, I found mine vintage ☺️ This not only saved my clothes from being ruined, but also clothes to try on before buying.

Love your room renovation- I feel for you we were always trying to get projects done before a holiday or gathering. We had a Westie when our kids were young. Her name was Haley. Somehow she looked like a sheep when she needed a haircut. So, we called her ‘sheep’ and then we also called her poozer -no idea why-and also “poozer sheep!” I smiled when I heard the evolution of Roxie’s nicknames! I thought it was just us. ❤

I have Breakfast Room Green pegboards in an otherwise-white room and I love them! They are so vibrant in the daytime and draw the eye but in artificial light they're oddly calming. I think I'd go with Whirlybird in your room but they're all gorgeous colours!

Paint all one colour equals full strength colour on the walls and quarter strength colour on the trims, doors furniture etc. Also consider the ceiling and cornice a colour other than white.

Breakfast room green! All the way! We have breakfast room green and we're thinking it would be to dark and all consuming on all walls,, so painted the 3 other walls a lighter green and we regret it!.( I want the hamper to treat my other half ☺️)

Love silly pet nicknames 😂 My two cats are called Gin and Tonic. Tonic has been Tinka Tonka, Tinkerbell which then became Bella and Tonks which then became Nymphadora (like the HP character). Gin has been Ginny, Gingerbread, Ginstagram and most recently just Madam because she’s so bossy I feel like every time I reply to her I have to be like “yes madam how may I help you?” 😂 Poor cats probably haven’t got a clue what their names are!

On camera, Whirlybird reminds me of what they used to call NHS green 😁. I love Breakfast Room Green; that's going to look luxurious as you're going to paint the woodwork too. All our pets have had at least two nicknames; I think it's a rule 😁

Someone told me don't eat sandwiches from subway. A person who worked there, so I never buy anything. 🤣 As for the room paints, I like warm color palettes, so on the other spectrum. I would choose a lemon yellow maybe, add white and red decor. Gold and red also is a nice option, but for a bright room.

I’ve just had an idea for a future video! Maybe after vlogmas, you could do a freezer and cupboard challenge for a week? Because I always struggle to make up meals that are in the cupboards, especially with money being quite tight this time of year and I love those kinds of meals as they remind me of my childhood as my dad always used to make a meal out of nothing! Plus, it’s handy for after Christmas as there’s always sooo much food, it can get a bit overwhelming :) x

I think oftentimes we’re too afraid a room is going to look too dark. Especially when one has different bedrooms/ guest rooms it’s great to try something e.g., picking a moodier, darker color. Therefore, I vote for the darkest color :) I’d love to win the gin, because I like gin a lot and I’m more mindful with when and what I drink, meaning I try to choose special drinks. This would be great to try!

In terms of weird names for pets I call my cats a couple of things. My plump orange cat, Milo, we call dumpling OR grumpy laces - He's a grumpy old man who loves shoe laces. My adopted Gray cat, Stowie, we call noodle OR Stow Wars - because we caught him watching Star Wars with us one night and he seemed to be really interested in whatever was happening.
