This segment of the game is such a prime example of excellent storytelling. Link is cursed, Zelda vanishes, and with them both out of the way the castle is overtaken in an instant. It creates such a feeling of hopelessness, that the Master Sword is elevated even further as a beacon to give you the power to overcome evil. Not only this, but Zelda's words and Zant's as well raise questions about Midna's true identity, that put all eyes on her in the coming arc. The game only gets more epic from here, Deebee. Can't wait for next time

@RyuBlue3 жыл бұрын
To explain what happened with Zelda and her sacrifice, since it is admittedly a little confusing- As it was established, the people of the light world cannot normally exist in the Twilight Realm without becoming spirits; the only exceptions to the rule are the ones chosen by the Triforce, such and Link (Who is instead transformed into a wolf) and Princess Zelda. The inverse is also true-Midna and the Twili can naturally only exist as a shadows in the light world. (The exception to this is the Shadow Beasts, which were brought into the Light World by a different Dark Power that allows them to do so.) When Zant exposed Midna to the light carried by Lanayru, he basically ripped her out of the Twilight Realm and into the Light world, which is why she's left in a sickened state afterward; her body is not used to existing in the Light World. In order to save Midna's life, Zelda relinquished her ability to exist in the Light World and passed it to Midna, resulting in Zelda being reduced to a spirit like a normal Light World person. This is why Midna wanted Link to stop her, since she was essentially giving up her normal existence for her.

So that is what happens, i always had the wrong idea and thought it was weird what happens at the end. Though I'm sure DBG probably thinks the same thing i did back in the day, guess we'll find out when he reaches the end.
@RyuBlue3 жыл бұрын
@@Zerolink30 My explanation gives a reason for that moment, too. As I said, it seems that those chosen by the Triforce are the exception to the Light World sprit/Twilight Realm shadow rule. This explains why Zant and his minions were able to exist in the Light World, since he was using powers given to him by Ganondorf, one of the Triforce bearers. This also explains why Zelda comes back in the end; Ganondorf was able to bring her back into the Light World with his own powers. It takes a moment to add up all the details that are there to realize this, admittedly. I wish that the game had been a bit more explicit about what was going on so that the fans wouldn't have been confused about it.

What I love after this is how the little animations between Link and Midna feel so different after this point, even though they're literally the same. One example, sometimes, when Midna's riding on wolf Link's back, she'll give a little kick and pat, like she's saying "giddyap!" to a horse. Early in the game, it comes across as condescending, just one more way that Midna's mocking you. After this, it feels like friendly teasing. Even though it's literally the same animation.

@Cattensu3 жыл бұрын
When I first played this game back on the wii in 2006, and I finally got through the lakebed temple, was so elated! Then I got hit by the biggest gut punch, that is Zant showing up, stealing all of the fused shadows, (your hard work) trapping Link in the form of a wolf, and nearly killing Midna. Then the rush to get Midna to Zelda, which I was not sure if it was timed or not. There is another Zelda game where you have a hidden timer going as you try to get to the end of the area. And if you fell, it is game over. So I was borderline panicked as I tried to get to Zelda as quickly as possible. All the while this beautiful song is playing. Midna's Lament still gives me that sense of panicked urgency when I hear it. Then when I get to Zelda, she sacrifices herself, for Midna, and for Link. . . . It still gives me chills, and brings a tear to my eye when I get to that part. Just another reason it is my favorite game of all time.

It was quite the shock when I felled the first time, it was my second playthrough, and I got was delayed by several of the darknuts, I was having a hard time fighting them for some reason. And just as I managed to beat the last one, the third bell chimed, and I got the game over cutsceen. And ever since, I get freaked out by events in games that seem to have urgency to them. Observing Lakebed Temple after a long time, I see many similarities between it and Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask. There's the obvious one with both temples using water wheels, and the redirection of water flow, but also... . The chu worm enemy in Lakebed is similar to the mad jelly miniboss in Great Bay, with both being one enemy hiding inside a gelatinous blob. . Both require the hookshot/clawshot to complete (It's the dungeon item in Lakebed, and you get it right before Great Bay Temple in MM). . Both have mini bosses that are covered in some manner of blobs, and that are first spotted by looking up to the ceiling. Both mini bosses guard the dungeon item. . Both have boss rooms that Link enters by dropping down a hole into a large room full of water. . And of course, both have underwater bosses (Bonus: in MM 3D remake, Gyorg has an eye similar to Morpheel's that becomes exposed and must be damaged to defeat it.) I may have missed some things, but I found these similarities interesting!

Brah there is so much missing from breath of the wild, even compared to orcarana of time from 1998, let alone this game.

I just read through this part in the manga and man, I as much as I enjoy the game, the manga absolutely blows it out of the water.

Are you talking about at the end there? It was asking if he wanted to continue playing. AFTER saving.

15:20 Wow, I never tried to use Gale Boomerang on the chain, but it's weird how the yellow cursor focuses on the chain, but locks on to the target above it. Weird. 51:20 Didn't think Morpheel was that flexible.

I remember being BAFFLED by this dungeon when I was younger. What is it with water dungeons just being more confusing than any other?
@anthonywilliams94153 жыл бұрын
Getting that boss key in Lakebed Temple was quite the chore

Especially unsettling when you realize Morpheel's room is THE DEEPEST POINT IN ALL OF (TP'S) HYRULE.

Huh, I knew you could damage the deku toad by shooting it's tongue with an arrow, but I was never able to pull it off. Now I know it was meant to be a bomb arrow! I'll keep that in mind for future playthroughs

I've beaten this game so many times and had literally no idea Morpheel could hurt you during the swimming phase. Absolutely infuriating to watch LOL
