I think it's because he was introduced to Zelda by BOTW, so he's not used to the item-based puzzles of most Zelda games, and tends to forget the items entirely. The weird thing is, even though he makes everything more difficult for himself, somehow it still works. Like at the part where the switch was behind the chain link fence, meaning he's supposed to use the boomerang to get it. He found a spot where he could just barely get it with the slingshot, which I didn't even know was possible. I'm not even sure he knows the boomerang can be thrown in a curve, because he never uses the Z targeting. Pretty sure he did the same thing with the switch inside Jabu Jabu that's supposed to be hit the same way.

To his credit, Dee Bee left in a lot of his flubs from the Twitch stream (him getting caught by the guards, him falling into the lava, et cetera), but there is one thing he left out that almost caused us all to have a collective heart attack. When he first entered the Spirit Temple and read that he had to be a child before he could proceed any further he very nearly played the Prelude of Light before exiting the temple and learning the Requiem of Spirit from Shiek. The entire chat was collectively shouting "No!!! Don't!!! Do!!! It!!!". Thankfully he noticed all of us panicking and stopped. He would have literally had to do the entire desert segment again had he completed playing the notes on his damned ocarina 😅

I mean the desert segment isn’t too hard, but it would be annoying to go turn into a child be trying to figure out how to get into gerudo fortress in the first place as a kid without a warp song, then finally giving up and going back as an adult to reread that sign and pick up on the clues he possibly could’ve missed, And then finally either asking for help, or just walking out of the temple to figure out what to do and then unexpectedly learning the song from sheik.

Time is always so confusing when we start meddling with it, but something just clicked for me. When we first hear of Nabooru, we're told she's Ganondorf's second-in-command, and that her headquarters is in the Spirit Temple. When we go to the Spirit Temple, we don't see her, as we can't reach her without the Silver Gauntlets. But when we go back in time and find her, she's a lone wolf thief, and wants to stop Ganondorf. In my head, this made no sense whatsoever, but I forgot we went back in time. For those seven years, the Witches were likely issuing orders on her behalf, or brainwashing her into giving those orders directly. For seven years she was stationed far away in the Spirit Temple, so that no one could find out she was being controlled. Of course she would be Ganondorf's second-in-command, she's just a figurehead under Twinrova's control, the real seconds-in-command. What still doesn't make sense to me is the Gerudos welcoming Link so openly. "Wow, you a great thief, you must want to join us. Here's an all access pass, and our leader is out in the desert. Have fun serving the great Ganondorf! Man, the way that guy was dressed, he kinda looked like the hero of legend. Weird, right?"

@@TheLoreSeeker the game never explicitly mentions who fought who, except "before the king unified this country, there was a fierce war". At best this implies a civil war. A war that was still going on less than 10 years before the game even starts. Ganondorf was swearing alliegence when we visit Zelda but I always got the impression he was only just then doing that. Zelda reiterates that he swears loyality but as an adult I wonder if his people's actions or loyality has been questioned multiple times by this point and that wasn't the first time ganondorf was there swearing his alliegence. Darunia and the king are Sworn Brothers because the king saved his life - thus making them allies. Who knows where the "people of the wind", the kokiri as we knew them, stood in the affair, if at all. They had a second room remincent of the temple of time's master sword chamber hiding in the basement of the forest temple, and fairy ocarina. The fact there is a teleportation pedistal for you travel there means sheikah were there at some point and had to of known about that room...or else the fairy ocarina and basement were a secret until the royal family found out, and considering their existence traitorous, not immediately knowing the sheikah might've acted in their own interests and shared their technology in an attempt to have a second path to the sacred realm just in case something happened to the temple of time. I have watched your entire OoT journey on Twitch, and it has been so much fun to see my favorite game being experienced by someone for the first time. Also, I am honestly so impressed that you've managed to solve some of the puzzles in ways I didn't even know was possible. It made it a new experience for me too, and I learnt new things about the game. It's been about 6-8 times in your playthrough that I've gone like "Wait, you can do THAT???" and that is so cool to me.

Ahhh, the Zelda reveal. Probably one of the worst kept secrets in gaming, but by the triforce does it feel good to see someone experience it blind. It's so interesting to look back and realize Impa probably spent the last 7 years training Zelda in the Shiekah arts. Sheik was basically a leader of the resistance waiting for you for 7 years.

Being able to get to the Sheik reveal unspoiled now'n days is like getting to the "Luke, I am your father." scene in Star Wars unspoiled. Extremely rare! For fans of the series it's so amazing to get to watch a genuine reaction to this moment. Thank you Dee, and all of the moderators who preserved the suspense. (Also I'm really glad Smash separated Sheik into their own character in 4. Before Sheik was a transforming character that turned into spoiler. Saw your latest Majora's Mask stream. Something to note: when you rewind time, though you keep certain items, the events are reset. And that... includes Stray Fairy collecting. So, you may want to finish Woodfall's before you reset the three days. For Stray Fairy collecting, the fairy they're tied to you missed because you didn't realize it was a cave entrance you were passing by in that woodfall area that the temple rose out of the water from. To help with the stray fairy, remember the Great Fairy Mask. When there's a stray fairy in the room, the hair will have sparkles coming off it, AND also happens to attract any not trapped stray fairies to you.

Probably said before, but to those who are young, this game came out in 1998. Sure the 3DS version has some QOL additions, this game did all of this in its first shot: dungeons, landscapes, gameplay, secrets, story, etc with incredibly little to refer to since there weren’t too many 3D action adventure games like this, like next to none (Mario 64 was prob the only reference helping it). Rewatching the game through this reminds me how absolutely freaking brilliant the game design was for this game, in so many levels. The Spirit Temple in particular always wows me with its approach.
