My HVAC guy told me those thick, expensive air filters make your system work a lot harder. Burns the motor out faster. He says it's better to buy the cheap filters and change them every other month or if necessary every month.

Asthmatic mother of asthmatics and grandmother now. Get a Duct cleaning done, it made a tremendous difference in our homes. I also used cheaper furnace filters and changed once a month. Sometimes the expensive furnace and duct (HVAC) filters don’t allow good air flow- resulting in the seeping of dirt around the edges. Use cheaper filters that allow air to flow through easier and just change more often.

If I use cheaper filters I’d have to change them weekly. Our HVAC contractors do not recommend using them, so we’ve always used what the professionals have recommended to us.

Yes to duct cleaning! Horrible asthma and I was not sure it was going to be worth it but it made a huge difference.

You can put power paste and cover it with plastic wrap over it and let sit. Use a scraper for the really problem spots.

When cleaning the return vent take it outside and hose it off. It's fast,easy, and u don't need chemicals. Also you won't have to worry about the carpet in front of the vent dirty.

A side table with a lamp would work perfect. Regarding filters, our HVAC technician told us not to spend all that money on filters. Get the cheapest ones out there and change them every 30 days. You should see a difference. The expensive filters do not do any better than the cheaper ones. Try it out and see what you think.

You can take that outside and water hose it. I use Awesome on my stove. Spray,set a few min, wipe. It’s amazing. Oven looks great.

Have your ducts professionally cleaned! Total game changer! I have asthma and allergies-we have super furnace filters that run around $130 each. We change them every 3 months and every time they are filthy.

Great job. I think you should leave your black table there... Move down the lamp the couch and the air filter. The best thing that I know is Bar keepers or mix dish soap, baking soda, and vinegar. As for the air filter I just realized I in my apartment need to clean it out as well... 😮😮😮 But I also heard that cleaning out the air ducts is a good thing as... 👍🏼🤯🤔🤔🤔

I hate the vents on the hvac, I always manage to slice a couple cuticles. How about small entryway table? Either slightly higher or shorter than your couch. I think higher. But I know I’ll end up liking whatever you come up with.😊 You have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe

Get you a silicon mat for the bottom ofyour oven . Spills just fall off when you take it out & dump in the trash. I have 2. One 1⃣ the bottom & lower rack.

I always use to buy the more expensive filters thinking they were better. An AC company later advised the bare bones, less expensive filters were better than anything allowing more airflow and less compromise on your system. Recently we bought an early 90's home and have experienced more allergy/sinus issues. Had an AC company come out and they checked the INSIDE coils of the unit. Filled with mold/bacteria. 🤢. Needless to say we are having a total clean completed on the system including our ducts. AC preventative maintenance is often something that is ignored/overlooked, but should be ranked right up there with medical or car maintenance. 👀

I’ve been saying the same thing for myself my allergies have been terrible lately and I feel like it’s with all the dust in my bedroom and I even dusted a bit not full coarse deep clean but I’ll get to it bc the less dust the better! & it’s satisfying you doing a little ASMR while you cleaning thank you for that. & I agree the power past and scrub daddy/scrub mommy does wonders it’s one of my fav cleaning products too! There has been a noticeable difference in our air, less dust & pet dander, since setting up the air purifier! If you struggle with allergies I would 10/10 recommend giving it a try! The Scrub Daddy paste in my go-to, it’s like a miracle cleaning product!

Pro tip take your furnace filter and vacuum it each month then replace it after the recommended time frame. I XO this and we have animals it helps the system work better. This was a suggestion from our HVAC guy

You’re using the correct filters. We use the same ones and ours are dirty two upon changing. The air purifier will help but you may need to seal around your windows and doors too.

Dawn Power Wash cleans everything, even my oven! Lol As for AC filters, our household is full of allergies and we use the cheapest AC filter and change it every two weeks (I do live in a dusty desert climate so maybe you won’t need to as much) but it was recommended by several family members that all work in the industry, it helps so much 😊

The space by the front door-maybe a taller skinnier faux tree that is a bit tall than your pics on the wall or a small side table-and not too bulky. 🌸 I wonder if you could put seal tape( the stuff you put around the front door so no air goes through) around the wood trim of the vent you cleaned. 🌸

A shoe organizer is a good idea for a mudroom that's in the back of the home or if there's a foyer. It'll get so dirty if everyone's stopping there to remove their shoes. Also, the carpet will get crushed sooner from the extra traffic. I like the idea of a bench but honestly, the living room looks really good to me. It's not imbalanced at all.

If you got the triexta fiber and it happens to get dirty or matted, you can get it supplied by the manufacturer for free (Mohawk). Of course, install and pad isn't included.

Hi Meghan I really enjoyed this video! Definitely interested in the Air purification system! Sometimes you just have to use the Easy Off Method 😂Use in well ventilated area and wear a mask. A cleaner I watch sprays it down then covers with cling wrap to keep it from drying. Also in your oven doors are slots that you can use to clean between glasses😂🎉. Fun times .😮

Check your furnace. It's not the filter it's the furnace. I also saw a comment about duct cleaning. That's a good idea especially when you have dogs. We did ours last year and we have a car.

I’d totally do one of those IKEA-type shoe organizers and maybe a small round drinks table at the edge of the couch. Those shoe things hold a lot of shoes or anything else you need easy access to. And I also recommend oven liners- although I’m not sure if your top oven is tall enough for one. Love your video! 😊

Cleaning the oven is my most despised chore!!! Our filters always look like that too after a couple of months and we have no pets. They definitely don't last as long as they advertise!!! I would put a small side table by the couch. I hope you have an awesome weekend!!!!

When was the last time you had your dryer vent to the outside cleaned? Along with your vents. It's a service my heat/ac company does for around 140 $... I have it done every 2 years it's helped a lot with allergies, etc...

Have you tried spreading the power paste over the area and letting it sit for a few minutes? It might need time to work so you don't have to scrub as hard, if at all.

Your oven came out sooo good, what a huge difference. In your living room I personally would move the couch back to where it was. With easy off of you end up getting it make sure you get the one for a self cleaning oven. The other will take off the protective coating and ruin your oven if you self clean again

I don't love cleaning the oven it is hard for me to get in there to clean unless I take the oven door off. But....I purchased a Black and Decker 8 slice digital toaster oven that fits a 9 × 13 lasagna dish for my counter top. It is amazing! Easy to clean and convenient to get casseroles etc., out when hot. I cook everything in it. I don't even use my oven any longer, and I don't have to be a contortionist to clean it. Doesn't heat the whole house either in the summer.

Take that grate outside and spray with the hose or put it in the shower and use the wand and spray the heck out of it. Spray it with some Dawn power wash. That should do it. The grate should be able to be removed from the trunk line for the actual filter.

Ours come loose. Try leaning the grate all the to the floor. See if you can tell if where it’s attached to the frame becomes more flexible. We do have to Jimmy it a bit, but ours comes loose and it’s not hard to reattach.

I heard that the self clean feature on ovens isn’t a good thing to use. The only reason companies include it as a feature is because consumers want it. I believe I heard this from an appliance repair person on tik tok, so I am not certain. Just wanted to let you know.

We obtained a quote and it was going to cost us almost $12,000 for less than 1000 sq ft. We had to postpone. Just not ready to pull the trigger on that one. Hope you have better luck.
