i just replayed the evil within and now am replaying the evil within 2. i love both the games for different reasons and its nice to see others speak so deeply about these games as i feel they are under appreciated even if they aren't perfect. Your videos are great! hope to see more from you

Despite my issues with the first game, the sequence of Sebas being done with the horror mindgames and just tearing through the EW1 boss roster is perfect. It essentially cements that while still not able to control the dream world in zany ways like every other antagonist, he's become fully in control of his own dream persona. It's telling that immediately after this sequence, the villain's freaking out that he essentially just brute-forced his way out of a dream hack.

Another great video. Evil Within 2 was a much better game than I remember it being, I miss the days I'd wait for Markiplier to upload the next part of this great story. I really wish Tango Gameworks started work in Evil Within 3 instead of opting to change it up for Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ive never met anyone who appreciated Evil Within 2 how ive always felt it deserved. The game kicks so much ass imo and it looked and played so much better than 1 imo. It truly is an unspoken gem of its era and genre

Loved this game as much as the first perhaps more so considering they worked on seb’s character which was one of my favorite aspects of this game and was one of the few things I thought was lacking in the first game

A possible reason for the light sales number is due to the lack of marketing this game had, it took me until like early 2018 to find out they had made a sequel due to being recommended a playthrough of it and I had to tell others that a sequel was made. It's really strange compared to how vigorously they marketed the first game, but of course this is just my own experience and I could be wrong.

My biggest gripe with this game is it feels like 3 seperate games. With the first being awesome and really should have been all about that villain. The second being absolutely trash and a waste of time. The third should have been Evil within 3 and been a whole game instead it feels rushed and doesnt have any time to breath.

Great video. I am a huge fan of the first game, which is one of my favorite games ever. I think that the second game did some things right and a lot of things wrong. -the cryptic aura: the first one was heavily criticized for that, but i found that it was one of its strengths. The dialogues, scenario, atmosphere was very unsettling, Sebastian didn't talk much. Elements of scenario were found to put the pieces together, but always with a sense of unknown and mystery that left the player to its own imagination. The Kidman DLC in the same fashion as the separate ways in RE4 gave even more elements to reassemble the puzzle but like I always said with a sense of interpretation left to the player. Hell, even the ending is left to interpretation. I also loved the fact that we couldn't see the face of Myra and the administrator in the DLC. This aura of mystery was unmatched The general public didn't like that, so the developers streamlined the scenario. Here Sebastian talks and expresses himself, the scenario is easy to understand. The story is wrapped up in the end, even with the cliffhanger. Everything is explained clearly. - Difficulty: the first was a challenging game, I didn't play the second one but from multiple reviews and footage, I figured that the 2nd is easier. I think it was also a response to the critics who found out the first one to be frustrating. But personally I loved that frustration ad the game gives you a lot of tools to overcome it without taking you by the hand. The second game seems more mainstream in that way. The criticism on difficulty was heavily overexaggerated in my opinion since the game has a lot of replay value which gives you opportunity to strategize, learn and become a beast with time. I think that the artistic design of the first one was top-notch, the enemies, bosses and general architecture of the levels are so special and unique, the second one is good but don't come to its height. My favorite game is Resident Evil 4, so the first TEW will always be special to me since it is like a reincarnation of it (general construction of the game, locations, Kidman's DLC complementing the game in the same vein as separate ways...) But i think that the second gale is still a good game, but will never have the charm and aura of the first game, and it's very sad that the franchise is on a permanent stand by. Unfortunately, the developers tried to mainstream the franchise and that ultimately led to the franchise being discontinued for now. Sometimes, a game doesn't need to be perfect, streamlined or easy to understand, and the TEW1 despite its flaws, made it unique and profoundly enjoyable and fascinating. Keep up the good work :)

It wasn't that bad of a sequel. I was just disappointed by so many unanswered questions and the short time Stefano had. I was hoping we'd get more out of Joseph, Ruvik, and Leslie. Those were the three I really wanted to know about. I know Kidman says what happened to Joseph, but they should have added it to the main story instead of as a prize for getting all collectibles.

The director of two said that there was a lot he wanted to do in the story that just had to be cut, and there's a lot of hints, imo, that the Anima is actually a manifestation of Ruvik, that plus the post credit scene I think implies Ruviks mind is still in stem somewhere. If there's a 3rd I think it would bring things full circle. I truly love this series and think a 3rd installment would be the best of both games.
