This has always been my favorite Silent Hill plot. As someone who always feels comfortable in my room the most, being in a situation where you unable to leave, and the place you feel the most safe is becoming unsafe... yeah.

Unlock a sexy nurse uniform for Eileen? I think they could have combat that with giving a sexy nurse uniform for Henry too. Give us some fan services for us girls! (and perhaps for some guys)

With SH4 you can tell they were moving in the direction of the evil in the town spreading to other places outside of SH much like what Silent Hill F is doing and what SH3 and 4 did with their premise

This game grips you with dread and sorrow like no other. I was playing it for hours the other day and when I finally turned it off, it was sobering. I could feel an air of gloom around me. The tension and hoplessness is palpable. Almost feel like it isn’t healthy for the mind but it is such a unique gaming experience I have to finish it and maybe even go back again for more one day.

Just came across your channel after recently finishing my first playthrough of Silent hill 2, the game was absolutely amazing and your video explaining and analysing the game filled any spaces I was confused with the story and came to make me love the game even more. You mentioned that Nier: Automata is one of your favourite games and is also my favourite of all time including nier replicant. It would be awesome to see you do a deep dive on the nier games sometime!! Congrats on 10k!! (almost 15k as of me writing this🎉)

A lot of folks call foul on this game not actually taking place in Silent Hill, but to me it just adds to the horror. It shows that no matter how tiny and tangential, if you have _any_ connection to Silent Hill (i.e. living in the apartment where a kid who wound up being raised by the cult was born), there’s a chance you might still fall victim to it.
The giant worms = umbilical cords! What if they're the room's umbilical cords, and the holes which we travel between worlds?!

Things I personally wouldn't do when a zombie girl starts bleeding everywhere and shambling toward me like a horror movie monster: Hug her and say it'll be alright.
@meimei871816 күн бұрын
Keeping an umbilical cord isn’t strange in Japan. In ancient times they would be used to treat illness in the child and reportedly saved many lives. In this day and age I don’t know how common it is but you can still see this practice in anime and it is used in special and sometimes scientific ways.

Another nice video, Nick. Really like these shorter and more personal ones as a change of pace from the more involved ones. Totally agree regarding Still Wakes The Deep too. Such great sense of place and character squeezed into its relatively short playtime. Would have liked a day or two of normality at the start to get to know the people and the layout before the events hit but such a slow intro might have turned others away.

I am by far the first or only person to think it - but as a Scot this is the single most accurate portrayal of Scottish people in media in a long time. Not a single thing felt cringe or out of place or even over acted. It was spot on and as you said in the video completely adds to the setting and immersion of the game. Loved this review!!

A demo version included on a CD-ROM from the gaming magazine LEVEL was my first contact with this game back in 2004, here in Romania. It featured the first chapter of the game, until Cynthia's death in the subway. That's when I got immersed in this universe and especially when I discovered Akira Yamaoka. I downloaded the "Room of Angel" song as mp3 from some fan website and I had that on repeat, constantly, for about two weeks on my portable mp3 player. Silent Hill 4 is a masterpiece in my opinion.

Love these videos. The bug showing the subscriber to non subscriber won't work in growing the channel. Every video on youtube is viewed predominately by non-subscribers and telling people to subscribe only affects groups that subscribe to everything, and end up not clicking on your videos in the future. Your channel is growing because of it's solid content.

Watching these deep dives has made me realise the connections between the enemies. Not just sh1 and sh3 but the connection of these two games to sh2 which is a departure from the Alessa/cult storyline. I really like the idea that the powers of the town have consistent design aspects that aren't necessarily significant to one character.

Literally replaying it now. This one has the best introduction. The way the cutscenes are done are more creepy. The scary aspects of SH4 is different than the others where the others are simply just about darkness and bad controls😂. This is the one Sh game I played the most as a kid. Although it's not as dark ,the main antagonist is by far the best ever ,not close . Also I love how they literally made a SH game based on a short message in a newspaper found in Sh2 . That's so cool to me . The best part by far of SH4 is the room. I literally bought this game based off the box art of the chained door . This room is actually the start of PT and every PT clone with a creepy 1st person home. Who would have thought that the most controversial SH game would literally spawn a whole new horror genre 😂😂😂. I will always respect SH4 for this
