Thanks for the upload. That brings memories back. I was sixteen years old, standing in the front row on the left. Ritchie's extended "Arabianesque" solo of this song on the live CD is a step beyond the "Come Hell or High Water" DVD version or this- "somewhat emotional territory for Satch"-expression. I see Joe's effort as a tribute to Ritchie & Purple, not a competition. I guess the band didn't want to honour the departing RB with the visual compliment on the DVD to his audio masterpiece. His Classisal/Folk/ Middle Eastern mode( Phygerian?) on "Anya" outdoes Page's "Kashmir" & his own "Perfect Strangers"

Joe should have stayed with Deep Purple. Beside from beign a great guitarist, he has a really nice temper and personality. You weren't born when Blackmore played with DP but you are more clever than many were born when Ritchie played them! Ritchie composed and created many tracks e riffs did history of hard-rock And his guitar-style you can immediately know, his touch and sound and his virtuosism is inside DP music!The version of this song with Ritchie is another thing! In the intro of keyboards and guitar, the notes of guitar of Ritchie seems a dancing ballet! Satriani is good but there is less class in his sound!

Satriani actually fits nicely in this song, but DP with Richie sound like a completely differend band. Only sound that comes close is with Bolin, sad he didnt live longer. In my opinion Richie and Bolin bring out the blues, Satriani and Morse are too heavy for the old DP songs.

Музыка намного разнообразнее и веселее, чем какой-нибудь Slaves and Masters или The Battle Rages On.
@cornucopia85914 жыл бұрын
@olgak_99324 жыл бұрын
