DeepCool Gammaxx AG400 - CPU Cooler Review

The Gammax AG 400 from DeepCool with an MSRP as low as 25 USD for the base model and 30 USD for the aRGB options. making it a low priced option for those upgrading from a stock cooler, but is it actually any good… Let's find out.
What’s up everyone, Erik here and welcome to Hardware For Gamers. For those who are new to the channel, I review and test PC cases, CPU coolers, PC case fans and Video cards. Before I get into the overview, to have Full disclosure. I bought this CPU Cooler myself to test and review, So as always all opinions expressed in this video are mine.
Let's go over what comes in the box of the white aRGB AG 400. There is the heatsink and fans of course. There is the installation guide, mounting hardware for AMD and intel, and a small pouch of thermal paste.
The dimensions of the AG 400 with the fan attached is 150 mm high x 120 mm wide x 70 mm deep. Based on these dimensions you shouldn’t have any RAM clearance issues.
Taking a look at just the heatsink, there are 4 (6 mm) continuous direct contact copper heatpipes. the heat pipes have been off set or set back likely to try and improve RAM clearance. The coating on the cooler looks well coated, I don't see any missing spots. The aluminum fin stack is 105 mm tall and consists of 51 aluminum fins. that has the weight of this heatsink at 380 grams.

The OG gammaxx 400 I brought, I think when the AM4 was new could overclock the 5600x pretty well. Kudos for the Deepcool team to keep the name alive. Thanks mate for the video review 🥰 I also have their ak620 now

I bought one of these before it was rebranded as 'Gammax.' Mine just says 'DeepCool AG400.' I got it on sale for $20 and slapped a $30 BeQuiet LightWings fan on it which has made it look and perform great while also being extremely quiet. The included fan isn't bad, I just wanted something RGB and exceptionally quiet.

assassin x 120 se would be better than the ag400?

They're very close. The assassin x did perform better, but I would get which ever one is cheaper.

The AK400, it will be quieter and keep the temperature about the same. Assuming your case has the CPU cooler clearance.

Bought new AMD 3600 and This Cooler but My temperature goes 80° on Full load. I don't know why. Even I have NZXT S340 case will all fans.

@@HardwareForGamers i have a 5600G that goes to 82c when playing flight sim... Just want it to be around 65-70c. I also have a macube 110 and an XFX 6800

running at stock, yes ish... it will really depend on how good the airflow of your case is.
