Having had cancer, my chosen way to fight against cancer is to not consume sugar and to avoid environmental pollutants, made man food additives and known carcinogens. I’m not a fan of raw meats, but medium rare to medium is spot on nutritionally and is satisfying to me. ALTHOUGH I very often will slice off a piece of salt pork fat (with no lean streak) from pork I raise and consume it raw. It must be salt cured (not simply salted) and be my own. I don’t worry about parasites because the two sows I designate for consumption every year, never soil touch again after being weaned and wormed. So I guess I am part of the 99.9% you spoke of. 👍🏽

@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I have been through a lot and walked places most men fear to run but lately I have discovered than in my old age, the smell of fermented chicken feed when it fills both nostrils will nearly make me throw up. I am one of those people who don't throw up even when the should but as I said, I am getting pretty frail in my age.

Looks great, McGies & Co. Not certain about raw meat, but it's the counsel I got continuously as a child. Commercially prepped meat is not processed carefully enough. Hence the number of recalls recently. That I am certain is the difference. 👍In any event, great information! Thanks!

@@McGieHomesteadAdventures For those really seeking to avoid cancer, watch the cast iron cookware video. Non-stick cookware is proving to be unhealthy. They advise you to discard it after 2 to 3 years. Why do that when you can have cast iron which can last +100 years with care and maintenance to preserve the non-stick surface?🍳 Another great video, McGie clan!

I have had lots of deer hearts. Raw. After the kill. Still warm. My father showed me. His father him.. Yeppers, I kept it going. While hitting the deer. It was the first thing eaten... Warm and a wonderful taste. And Camp Dog Cajun Seasonings. You could sprinkle it on a 2X4... It would still be tough... But the taste would be great... Keep on spreading the word. From what I have heard, to eat raw fish or meat, it has to be frozen for a while to kill parasites.
@McGieHomesteadAdventures
@McGieHomesteadAdventures 4 сағат бұрын
I’m not sure about all parasites but Trichinella does not die in the freezer! Fortunately, that is not a parasite found in a ruminant animal. Ruminant animal is safe from parasite in the muscle!

My only question is, is RAW pig flesh (doesnt matter if its meat or fat) or deer flesh parasite free ? like pig from pasture, and wild deer, are they parasite free ? coz i dont think they are, and there are no benefits that owerweight tapeworm or "mamma's spaghetti" (you all seen this clip where doc at operating table is pulling out hand fulls of worms out of overweight momma colon, they r mammas spaghetti noodles) so yea either dried smoked raw meat, but really smoked and dried, weeks, or cooked, sushi fish from a farm aint good aswell, imagine 4 person jacquzi, 500 fish in same space, their feed is 20% antibiotics everyday so they dont die from their own poop or dont develop parasites eating them inside out. Edit theres also a rule on freezing, to kill parasites (dont remember exactly what for how long), like fish 3 weeks chicken/pig 4 weeks etc, i dont remember, but there is something like this, if you want to eat it raw.
@McGieHomesteadAdventures
@McGieHomesteadAdventures Сағат бұрын
I’m afraid the parasite that we deal with in our local wild pork is Trichinella and no….. freezing will not kill them. Fortunately, the meat of animals that are ruminant does not have parasites. Neither does the fat of our Mangalitsa pork.
