I miss Deerhunter. They were so prolific. I miss Bradford. He is such a genius. They haven't really nailed it since Halcyon Digest imho, even though Fading Frontier was a proper good album. But I will always, ALWAYS be interested in this band, and listen to whatever they are up to. Great live band too, especially when Josh Fauver was still in the band and alive. Come back guys!!

Deerhunter will always be my favorite band. I remember in 2008 when Bradford still ran his myspace page and he gave me some words of encouragement. He gave me the courage to write music for my band Vacant Mind. I honestly give all my credit to that time of creating to "Microcastle" and Atlas Sound's first debut. Had a huge impression on my life. I think im going to have to drive 10 plus hours to finally see these guys in concert. RIP Josh

Come on down from that cloud And cast your fears aside You're all here and there And there's nothing inside May God's will be done In these poisoned hills And let the devil be cast out on his tail Hey! There was a voice that called me There was a light that burned me Come on and let's be sure Let's not pave the way Your friends have died And their lives, they just fade away Some worked the hills Some worked in factories Worked their lives away And in time, you will see your own life fade away There was no time to go back There was no time to go back Come on! They were in hills They were in factories They are in graves now They were in debt to themselves And what is it made of now? I go around and feel how it fades I walk around and I see what's fading Walk around and you'll see how it fades Walk around and you'll see what's faded

Their new album is easily their best album since "Halcyon Digest". I have only heard it twice, but it's much more focused than "Monomania" and "Fading Frontier" which were great but weren't as well made as the new one. Some people might disagree with me, but "Why hasn't everything already disappeared?" is the Deerhunter album I've been waiting for for a long time. I didn't even like the new singles at first, but I am now in love with every song now that I have heard the complete piece of art.

Hot damn, this is a solid single. I wasn't in love with Fading Frontier or Monomania, but they both had their moments. Deerhunter's upcoming album is certainly going to be interesting. I'm hyped!
@megaSALEMGUYify6 жыл бұрын
I thought Monomania was a huge disappointment, Bradford almost felt disconnected on that record. It was soulless. However - Fading Frontier is probably my favourite Deerhunter record at this point. You should revisit it.
@ianturnbow70116 жыл бұрын
@@megaSALEMGUYify Monomania felt like a direct response and "fuck you" to all of the fans that flocked to the band around the Halcyon Digest era because of how much the band's sound differed. There are certain tracks on Monomania that I really dig and were much better live than their studio versions (e.g. THM and Dream Captain). As for Fading Frontier it felt like a much more cohesive album than Monomania, but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's anywhere close to my favorite. Some tracks felt that they could have belonged on Weird Era Cont., Microcastle, Halcyon Digest, or even the Rainwater Cassette Exchange EP.

Can't stop playing this absolute art (to me)(& commenting). Maybe request it be played at my funeral and my ashes laid out to spell the lyrics. Or is it a bit to gloomy? or to brutally honest? I often get a shiver when I look at old photos of people long dead. This song feels the same and yet it sounds brilliant. I think he is trying like everyone to come to terms with realising we will all soon be gone.
