I remember back when this dropped, we had MTVU in my dining hall in college. After like 6 months straight of Steve Aoki they randomly played this video. You could see everyone in there look up from their phones at the TV, like a spell had been broken. Thank you St Vincent.

I was channel surfing tonight and stumbled into Austin City Limits tonight and I am seeing St. Vincent for the first time. Holy crap!!! What a unique sound and talent in this group. And a beautiful, talented front woman💪💪💪Reminds me of the first time I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals randomly on Austin City Limits. I was so blown away by Grace Potter that night. Grace and the band was so great sounding. I am truly impressed by what I'm watching right now. You can't beat Austin City Limits for finding a unique sounding band that SOMEHOW you have never heard of.

Very true. Annie made a fan of me with her older material because I liked the sincerity (especially if you watch her older stuff live, like the DUMBO sessions), but with each album, she changed her sound and evolved, so I re-listen to them often. Each one satisfies a mood for me. This new album is pretty different, and I like it. It satisfies a different mood. It's fiercer, more experimental, and there's plenty more guitar (which Annie seemed to want to get back to). She's one of the few artists choosing to explore their style, and partially why she's my favorite artist. I'm excited for what she comes up with next.

What some of these negative commentators may not know is that Annie Clark is a virtuosic guitarist and an impeccable singer. If you ever get a chance to see her live, you'll realize just how jaw-droppingly talented she is.

She's a good guitarist. She's not remotely close to being a virtuoso. And who cares, what she actually does in the song is what matters.

The guitar part at 2:27 is STRAIGHT out of "Kiss." I saw her perform a couple weeks ago in Minneapolis and she gave a shoutout to Prince before performing "Sugarboy." My heart was warmed.

Clearly guys, the people who don't get the message are the ones the song is about.
@BethanieBoots

It is. You know normally I am one of those "Not everything needs a deep meaning." type people. I can listen to some pretty bad music as long as I can bob my head with the beat. But with her I feel like it is deeper. I think people assume that because it is 'pop' music it can't have a deep message. But that is just it, It can. Something can be simple and also complex. Everything is not black and white.

A beautiful woman got me into st vincent back when this came out, havent heard from her since. I hope my old lovers still like some of the music i shared, and maybe even it reminds them not to be awful to their partners. If i knew how evil most of the future women i would date would be, i would have tried waaay harder when i was young in the free love vibe. If any young folks are listening to this, if you find someone really in to you who looks decent and doesn't have a psycho streak... That's a keeper. Shift from thinking about if you can do better to how you can do what you want in life, but with this person.

If you think about the symbolism in this music video along with the lyrics... Ur mind will explode. She never once looks into the camera to avoid eye contact and she sings about how social media ruins social life. Something along the lines of "what's the point of sleeping anyway... Give me all of your mind" and it ends with her all alone in a corner... MIND FUCKED

True. Still the most viewed vid on the official channel tho, and one of the most plays on Spotify. Los Ageless always comes up as her most popular song (and while it’s brilliant and worthy of the claim) it’s datas a little obscured by it being featured in tv soundtracks. Think it’s safe say Digital Witness still gets the attention it deserves

The comments are like "i don't like this song, I don't like her music, i don't understand this" like ok??????? Don't watch it? I don't understand why you feel the need to add that comment in the first place, especially when there's already 1000+ comments saying the same thing. St. Vincent is quite popular, so obviously people do still like her music. No need for negativity.
