Cause when he said that Lamar was a below average quarterback. Aka a project. And now that project became one of the best qbs in the league. He wasn’t wrong when he said this. It’s just the project turned out well. Tom Brady was a project and not a prospect. Russel Wilson was a project. Julian Edelman at wide receiver was a project. You are just too dumb to not realize a project isn’t necessarily bad.

@@NickPetre91 I don't give him any credit for admitting the obvious. Nor was an evaluation, it was his uninformed opinion. And if he's that ignorant to try an form a professional opinion on a simple size of a few games. Then what does that day about him. The best part of all the negativity that everyone has shot at Lamar, is none of it has penetrated his confidence. He knew his ability and so does his Mom. And that seems to be all that matters to him. Go Ravens Go Lamar.

Lamar Jackson has made watching traditional offense boring. I was watching the Ravens-Texans and then Patriots-Eagles game back-to-back on Sunday. Both offenses in the later game were just so slow and lacked creativity compared to the Ravens. Yet according to draft experts, those are the kind of offenses QBs should be expected to run?

Watching Lamar demoralize a team that forces him to pass is so damn satisfying. Even in those games, Lamar demoralizes defenses so much that even the best run defenses eventually start adding more DBs and opening running lanes because they didn’t scout lamars arm well enough. His 3rd and 4th down conversion rate and the fact he’s putting up 34 points a game on 4-6 possessions a game is ridiculously efficient. Historically actually.

Donny Brook I agree with most of that except for the part about longevity. Lamar has only taken one or two above average hits this season. His ability to avoid the big hits is remarkable and will lead him to a much longer career. Undersized players such as ty hilton are also good at avoiding the big hits and as long as new speedy qbs are taught to avoid the career shortening shots I think qbs will still have lengthy careers.

Remember when Steph Curry had his first MVP season, and he was shooting 3s at an insane volume and with very high efficiency. People were saying it's not sustainable, he's a shooting guard, etc. The year after, all the slashing PGs were either injured or benched in favor of PGs with a 3 range, and everyone except the Spurs were shooting 3s. Because now PGs can drive and layup, drive and pass or fake, step back and shoot from 3. Steph Curry transformed the NBA. Lamar Jackson will transform the league too. Next year onwards teams will be looking to draft QBs who can both pass and run, who are athletic but also have a great presence of mind. Vick, Kaepernick, Wilson, Mahomes, Watson and now Lamar Jackson. Now QBs can pass downfield to the TEs or Wideouts, hand the balls to the backs, or fake hand the ball and run a route of their own. The opposing team will have to play reactionary defense, and will always be behind. Massive props to the Ravens team too, every guy in offense can block (Mark Ingram is a thing of beauty, they move into play action, and Ingram becomes an instant OT; Boykin blocked for what looked like 30 plus yards in one play last game, and all their TEs are beasts).

Great video. LJ is definitely a special talent. Not only has he exceeding expectations, he's become something defenses are not prepared to defend (not even the great Bill Belichick's Patriots ) This kid can run and pass with the best of them. And he knows how to stay out of harms way. He doesn't take a lot of hits. He's become very smart with the football while both throwing and running. He's getting better and better each game and while the Ravens opponents are so fixated on slowing him down, the defense has flown under the radar. This team is clicking on all cylinders - offense, defense and special teams. They are serious super bowl contenders.

And tbh i kinda don't want the Ravens to make it to the superbowl because im scared our team will disband and be rebuilt again and i love our team right now, the guys are like family and have such good morale and so much talent, they really do deserve rings, but everytime a team makes it to the superbowl, EVERYONE demands more money and then the team is picked apart because we cant afford to pay everyone insane amounts and other teams will steal them and then the next year the team will be a shell of what it was the year before, we seen it happen in 2013.. the reason we can afford to build an offense specially tailored to Lamar's play style is because he didnt demand we pay him like our entire money cap like flacco, he had a 120 million dollar contract so after that we couldnt afford to buy enough good players.. i understand these guys deserve a lot of money because of everything they put into the sport but you gotta be reasonable, if you drain your teams budget, how are they gonna do anything for you to help you succeed?

I find two things quite fitting: 1. In this, the NFL's centennial season, Lamar has an opportunity to shatter and reform long-standing prerequisites for football's preeminent position. 2. Sixty years ago, another man came out of Louisville, went to Baltimore, and changed the game of football fundamentally. His name was John Unitas. Jackson has a ways to go before he matches the legacy of the Golden Arm, but it feels like history is rhyming.

I’m not a raven fan at all but I hope they win the Super Bowl this year to shut people up every time a athletic QBs are drafted I feel they ( coach’s ) sabotage their careers by making them pocket passers. John is smart for creating a offense to fit his talents I think of Cunningham Kordell Steward and other athletic QBs who could of had great careers but these stubborn coach’s was always trying to force them to fit their mold. Kudos to John for breaking tradition of stupidity
