So, funny story- at the time that these guys were officially the loudest band in the world, my dad fell asleep in the third seated row at their concert right at the start, and slept the entire way through. It was actually very sweet- he’d worked three days straight with little to no sleep in order to be able to buy these tickets from a scalper, because this was Mum’s favourite band. So he worked bloody hard and got the tickets for her… and then promptly slept through almost the entire concert. Very sweet though, mum thought it was very romantic, and he must’ve done something right, because they’re still happily together all these years later. I think mum was pregnant with me (though early days) when they went to the concert. I’m 34. So yeah, he did something right.

I can't say just how grateful I am to have seen this concert in Houston, Tx!!! For me, it was the greatest show ever!!! Just goes to show just how far a band has come, when they have to wait for their fans to show some love!! And remember, this concert was years in the making!! After waiting for drummer Rick Allen to fully recover from his accident. And then learning how to play drums again!!

In The Round was one video released at the end of the Hysteria concert tour in 88. I saw that tour front row. Bringing On The Heartbreak is off of High And Dry and it came out in 1981. You have to listen to the original version. It's the best ock Ballad of all time

As a fan of this song since it was released, I saw a live version of this song where they came at you hard from beginning to end. The long pauses between verses and the softer style were over the top, when they could have been rocking out the entire time.

You should check out the original studio version of this song, followed by "Switch 625", the two songs were intended to be listened to back to back and the raw emotion that is captured, between the two songs, is absolutely incredible and I have never heard another band even come close between back to back songs.

No, it was not. Rick Allen’s drum riser would spin at times during the show. I was at the show when this was recorded, February 13, 1988. It’s still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

I was there, February 13, 1988, night two at McNichols Arena in Denver. Night one (February 11) was used to iron out the kinks the film crew might have encountered the next night. In The Round In Your Face (this concert) was released on DVD as a bonus disc to the Hysteria Expanded Deluxe set back in 2017. This is a great show and worthy of finding if you want to own it.

I grew up in this era. 52 now. “in the Round, In Your Face” was the concert video they put out on VHS , and I’m going to guess Beta as well. A lot of bands did this during that era. I bought this one. They were the biggest band in the world at the time “Hysteria” came out, which was just before this tour. This was after Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident and they changed their sound to a more produced style and less raw. Nonetheless still an amazing band. Just as you guessed, In the Round because the stage was in the middle of the arena floor and I do believe it was spinning as well. You need to listen to the recorded version of you haven’t. Amazing . I’m in Cleveland as well, going to have to check out one of your shows sometime. A request, do “Piece of Me” By Skid Row off the “Slave to the Grind “ album. A live performance with Sebastian Bach, either the Saturday Night Live performance or from Wembley Stadium 1991. Just FANTASTIC

In the round in your face refers to the late 80s early 90s tour in support of their latest album Hysteria in which the had a round stage that was surrounded by the audience. It was innovative and hadn't been done before. They have since said how bad an idea it was. Constantly running around trying to include everyone.

You guys didn't realize that the drummer only has 1 arm? Dude is a legend!!! The singers brother too btw. And the dude with the double neck guitar, "Steamin'" Steve Clark passed on many moons ago. This was the second version of this band as they have changed hands in the guitar position. Back to the drummer, he also probably has the fastest feet on the pedals in rock history, no matter what genre. Do more watching, less dancing around in your chairs with your eyes squinted.
