So many memories of a classic hit. Def Leppard was the band that first started me liking Rock and Metal!!! They still play to this day minus one of their original guitarists who passed away and the drummer who lost an arm in an accident. Hes still plays on a special made kit. This was one of those videos that epitomized the whole "larger than life" thing that bands seemed to execute around '83 when MTV had only been around for about 2 years. Many bands around then were learning what to do, and what NOT to do based on the multitude of "experimental" videos released in '81 & '82. It was like an evolutionary process that slowly improved throughout the decade.

I was ten years when Pyromania came out, here in México it was huge. I remeber a group of kids, we were like 20 boys, from 10 to 17 playing soccer in front of a house where other friends lived, they were 4 brothers, between junior high and high school, they put on the radio on the background while we played, it was a now extingued station called Stereo Rock (I missed it!). When Rock of Ages, Photograph or Follin' came out, wich were in heavy rotation, one of the brothers runed to the house and cranked up the volume, it was amazing playing and listening to Rock music in the background, it was amazing! The 80's was a great time for Rock music, specially here in México, God! I miss those days! Greetings from Monterrey, México.

I was 19 when these hits came out on MTV and the radio - 1983... ahh, the days. I just saw them in concert in 2018 and they STILL rock it. My brother and I went together and the traffic was so horrible (due to an overly long - like 5 minute - stop light) that we were running late to the concert. People got out of their cars (not the drivers) and started walking and we could hear through the woods, "Uh foo-foo-foo-foolin'!" (guitars) "Uh, foo-foo-foo-foolin'!" Oh, we were pisssssed! I'm going, "Goddammit!" My brother is like, "Mother-f'er!" lol But thankfully we did get to see them sing most of their best songs. But, yes, they are tops!

The 15 year old me is swooning all over again at Joe tied up at the beginning! LoL For me, the music of the 80’s can’t be beat! A year after this came out, Rick Allen (the drummer) lost his right arm in a car accident. The band waited on him to recover and relearn to play the drums with a specialized kit so he could use his feet to compensate for the arm he lost. I have so much respect for him and the band. True inspiration!!!

You're talking about the drummer with the shorts, watch their later videos he only has one arm, he lost his left arm in a car wreck and had to set up a drum set using one arm
@kennethv52504 жыл бұрын
FUN FACT: the drummer was in a car wreck and they had to amputate one of his arms. that didnt stop him from playing, they added some triggers to his drum kit and he kept rocking for years after....another one?? teh drummer got mad because while he was on stage doing his solo the rest of the band was in the back ummm 'talking' to the groupies in a big orgy of 'talking' and he never got to 'talk' to them during a show and finally if you listen to their song 'Love Bites' right at the very end of the song, if you turn the sound WAY up you can barely hear the words several words and then you hear 'jesus of nazareth go to hell' its very faint and it may only be on the vinyl or cassette since ive heard it on both but dont have the cd so i cant test that.
@darthvader92774 жыл бұрын
Rick Allen lost his left arm when he went through the sun roof cause of the faulty seatbelt and when he got to hospital they reattached but the drugs couldn’t kill the bacteria so they had to amputate that arm which was his left arm

If you wanted to really get the essence of the 80’s why not try a bit of Billy Idol? Rebel Yell would be a great starting point.

I know a lot of old skool fans insist DL peaked with High’N’Dry, but I’m telling you: While they sold a shitload of copies of Hysteria, Pyromania is the album people will still be studying a hundred years from now. Not only is it pop perfection in the shape of hard rock, it clearly defined a decade, not just in terms of rock, but it influenced R&B (the deeply stacked backing vocals), and - by way of ”Mutt” Lange’s foray into Shania Twain’s career - country music. It is a classic album by any measure, and anyone serious about music production and songwriting should sit up and take notice. At least if they’re the tiniest bit interested in pop music, and what makes some records sell like nobody's business. Pure class.
