and that's how we did it back in the day ladies and gentlemen
@deantitus9734 Жыл бұрын
In case you guys were wondering, after his near fatal car accident in the mid '80s, Rick Allen had to have a custom built drum kit to compensate for his missing left arm!! He now uses his right arm and both feet(barefoot, BTW) to create the necessary sounds that his left arm would have made.

"If alcoholism, car crashes, and cancer couldn't kill us, the '90's had no fucking chance!" -Joe Elliott
@heathersullivan25616 ай бұрын
I love this band. They are the epitome of brotherhood. Drummer lost arm in car crash. They did not replace. Waited for him to recover and figure it out. Lost one to alcoholism. They still carried on. The newer member ( took place of super blonde one that died) got cancer. They waited around for him to get better. Did not replace. They are amazing. Love mostly the early stuff. Not the typical band that just replaces members when they have a crisis or they have issues.

I love the comment about the lighters, I'm 61 so this was very common, I've seen def leppard more than I can count, and the front row since 1983. What a culture shock fast forward to 2022, and I had to carry a clear bag of a certain dimension so your whole business was exposed, good thing I didn't have anything embarrassing in there, oh the humiliation! It was all worth it though because even in 2022 they put on a great show

What I remember about the group, the drummer his arm in a massive car wreck. The label was pushing to have him replaced - the group took a year off to give time to recover. Spending their own money and helped design a drum set - digital drum pad and drum machine to aid in the limitations of having only one arm. I admire their loyalty to their drummer, even though I am not a big fan of their songs.

Def Leppard is just legendary! The drum kit looked the way it did because Rick Allen lost his arm in a motor accident at the end of 1984. After leaving hospital, he want to his local drum store to try out various pads to allow him to replicate his drumming using his feet and his remaining arm. For many, he became a better drummer. The the drum sound in the Hysteria album sounded much fuller compared to the previous ones.
