2:08 Steve, can you hear the instant cheering? Did you ever hear it? Did you know that every single time you'd step up front and do a solo and the crowd would cheer, that it was all for YOU? Your life was not in vein. Every ounce of practicing, perfecting, dedication, and commitment shined through every chord you ever played. We know you see that now. If only you could've seen it while you were still down here with us, then maybe you'd be here right now. But I just realized something....you are, and you always will be.

When I listen to this version of the song it feels as if I can feel Steve’s pain and his passion. It’s crazy how much emotion and passion the members played with to give that effect. RIP Steve Clark

This song has such power in it. I don't think it's really about a specific event or experience of anyone in the band but it seems like such a personal song.

Steve is said to have been one of the composers for this song. Supposedly it was written after an argument.

I was about 13 in 1980 and I was captivated by Steve. Here we are 41 years later and still has got me running. His playing, heart and soul moved me in a way no other guitarist has. I could only imagine what you'd be playing now. But I'm sure it would be phenomenal. Everything you touched was golden. Forever Riftmaster ❤️.

this is the best ive ever heard them play this song- and the best part is someone was recording this with a big old video camera and it still sounds absolutely perfect-my favorite band- they have stood the test of time.... I saw kids at the last concert that had to be about 16 years old-Steve had the power to make me feel emotions that Ive never felt from any other musician- love you SMC RIP

VERY RARE The Riffmaster is using in one of the very rare occasions a Fender Strat......priceless footage....but he used it in the video shot too and the Steamin solo maybe he thought a Strat bought out the best for that song? who knows...gold of a find.#TR

HUGE LOSS! Agree with you 100%, I often wonder how much better Def Leppard songs would've been if Steve never passed away, and was functioning at his best? In no way is this anything negative to Vivian Campbell, but as good a guitarist as Viv is, Steve was a much better composer and riff writer than Vivian or Phil, IMHO. Take care..... Peace To All

Did they play “Love Bites” often on the Hysteria tour I wonder or was it done randomly that night while someone had a camcorder handy. Cause I have the “ In The Round Live 1988 Denver show and it’s not on the set list.

The use of the Strat on this song is probably due to needing a clean, bright tone like the original recording. Wouldn't doubt they used a single coil on the recording. Can't testify to that but... And it's not unusual for bands to tune down when doing live shows as it makes the vocals easier, especially towards the end of tours. You'd be surprised how much just a half step makes on the vocals.

+Curt Reyes (CurtChronicle) I think that during the earlier performances of this song (referencing the 93 performance in Sheffield) during the verse at least he used a synthesizer for some of the bass notes. If I remember correctly though

@ilovesteveclark60845 жыл бұрын
@Frozen Heart Steve was NOT drunk. Steve was always very serious and intense when he performed. He NEVER went on stage under the influence of anything. If you don't know that fact, then you're obviously not a true fan. And no, this isn't the last performance on the tour.
