This is Medal Of Honor Frontline. This game originally came out in 2002 and follows the story of Jimmy Patterson as he fights through German occupied Europe. It is one of the best and most nostalgic games. On this part Jimmy sabotages the German airfield base takes down Sturmgeist and steals the experimental HO-IX jet.

I loved the Medal of Honor franchise. The music always made it something special but this playthrough puts into perspective just how impressive the music score was. Brought back a lot of memories.

Ho-229 (Known as HO-IX in game) was a flying wing fighter bomber, part of the 3 x 1000 project ( a bomber capable of carrying a 1,000 kilograms load over 1,000 kilometres at 1,000 kilometres per hour). It is on display in the main hall of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

For those of you wondering, yes the top secret flying wing jet was real but, never got to production before the war was over. Actually the US came up with the flying wing design too. The reason it took so long from that to the first stealth bombers is because flying wings are insanely hard to fly. They needed on board computers to auto-stabilize them to make them a viable aircraft. Thus why they weren't really produced until we had small/advanced enough computers probably some point in the 80s. Also, at 41:33: that's the ME-262; the world's first jet fighter. Unlike the HO-229 thee ME-262 had several working units; production came too late in the war for them to have an impact though.

Thank you, Professional, for sharing this playthrough with us. Medal of Honor Frontline is my all time favorite WW2 game and to my mind is the best in the series and genre. Its the game that sparked my interest in history and I never forgot that amazing soundtrack. The only game that I think possibly beats it is Secret Weapons Over Normandy, which had the same composer, and actually started out in life as a Medal of Honor game before it was sold off to Lucsarts who picked up the bones of the project and made it themselves. I hope we see more similar playthroughs in future; more Medal of Honor games would be a real treat. Thank you again and happy 4th of July!

Ammo conservation and utilization of cover is Key to beating this chapter, especially in the first and third levels! You also need to make sure your shots are spot on! The enemy here is relentless and brutal, and Why wouldnt they be? This IS their homebase!

The reason the game was accurate was they get a lot of there infromation from actual WW2 Veterans while they were designing and developing the games.

My theory is there was less of a rush to get games out and online multiplayer wasn't a thing yet. Also they weren't pressured to spend almost all time and money on graphics. So they had time to put the proper research and detail into single player. Now single player is a rushed afterthought that a bunch of people don't even play which is a shame.

Not sure if you were sarcastic about th Ho229 being a bomber but at the end of the war all focus was on stopping the bombers. It was supposed to be a super interceptor. The Ho was never completed we only found pieces of it in a mine.

the HO-XI is supposed to be the Horten 229 (Historically inaccurate I know) one of three fighter jets that was supposed to enter mass production but never did unlike the ME-262 and the ME-163. Interestingly enough the one located at the National Air and Space Museum is also the only "original" one in existance as the other 7 were scuttled by the Americans to prevent them from falling to the Soviets.

It's a nice tension for the mission, but that aircraft was never going to turn the tide of the war. Air superiority was so far in favour of the allies, and Germany so weak, that this sort of weapon would not have been effective. Even if Germany had the opportunity to deploy them in numbers, they would have potentially been disruptive, but not so effective as to change anything. By this point in the war, Nazi Germany's manufacturing, maintenance and fueling was utterly stripped of any real capability. This jet, even if it worked entirely as they'd hoped, was too little too late.
