I think you missed the best part of the Judge Bryant hearing. After the judge fierce part, the defendant broke down, and started talking about how he had been shot, and his wife was murdered? and his lack of coping. Bryant instantaneously switched into Judge Compassionate, and while she sentenced him, made sure he was going to get grief counseling and help. It was Bryant finest moment.

That's a very, very longstanding urban legend, for lack of a better term. It _can_ theoretically happen - you can be given a general "unsafe driving" citation in most (?) places if you're driving in such a way as to be a hazard to others on the road, and that can involve going too slowly in the right/wrong conditions. Granted, that's probably more _stopped_ _on_ _the_ _highway_ than _five_ _under_ _the_ _limit..._

I had just gotten a new car back in 1994. I was driving it home after picking it up in another state. I was as stopped for speeding in North Dakota. When the officer asked if I knew how fast I was going, my reply was “Hopefully 75 because that’s what I have my cruise control set at”. That’s what he clocked me at so I found out my speedometer worked. He actually laughed at my honest answer and ended up just writing me a warning.
@DebraJean196

When I was moving into my college dorm my dad was driving a friend’s pickup truck that had oversized tires on it. He didn’t realize it would make the speedometer read low. Until he got pulled over by the trooper for going 15+ over the speed limit. The trooper was bored so helped my dad play with the truck (the fact that he NEVER had a ticket of any kind in over 50 years of driving might have helped lol) and the trooper proved to my dad the speedometer was wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my dad so embarrassed in my life. It was pretty funny!

Actually, if you listen to the guy who wanted a court appointed attorney, he was NOT asking for a free attorney. He thought "court appointed attorney" meant that the court would give him the name of an attorney that he would then pay for. He was hoping not to have to go out and find one himself, just hire the one the court suggested/appointed.

He was lying under oath to flex. These are not difficult questions. What is your income? How much money do you have available in a bank etc.. Do you own any assets, like a home or car? Own, not paying on! He stated he owned his house and car! He stated his car is worth $20,000.00 He stated he had $70,000.00 available cash. Then he got called out and changed his $70,000.00 to his income level. Go ahead ask yourself these difficult questions and explain to me how he just wanted a list of attorneys. If he just didn't understand how you get an attorney then why did he change all the answers to these basic questions????? Are you his mom?
@willatwood
@willatwood Жыл бұрын
@@angeliqueoren2462 that may be true, but I believe the judge let it slide because he ended it with the statement that he thought he was going to pay the attorney fees to whatever attorney the court appointed him and not be represented for free. Idk if he said it to make up for the precious flex since he also stated that he would be paying at some point after the case went to trial, but it sways more towards him wanting the court to appoint an attorney and he'd be paying that attorney and not looking for a free one. He did give testify that he has money in crypto and has multiple accounts making money and may have to answer to the IRS since they are cracking down on taxing gains on crypto and taxing when you try to sell and take the money out.

In the town I live in there is a school zone where the limit is 20. When going through that area, I always go 20. A mortgage is a loan that is secured by a lien against real property (land and buildings). So, yes, the loan that you use to buy your house is a mortgage, but it is possible to mortgage a property you have previously paid off, or to get a second mortgage before you have paid off the first. A second mortgage is secured by the equity in your property... the difference between what it's worth and what you owe on the first mortgage. So yeah, you could get a mortgage for cash to pay a lawyer, giving the lender a lien on your property to ensure that you will pay the lender. @lisawatson9570

Got pulled over on the way home & was sure I was getting a speeding ticket. Turns out I was pulled over for “following too close to the car ahead of me.” Cop told me that I should never be “closer than the length of a football field” to the car in front of me. WTF! I remember in driving school we were told “one car length for every 10 mph.” Good news is the cop was cool, and just advised me to keep a safer distance. 👍👍

So Mike I have a thought about the car and what the defendant was saying about the request for search by the Leo’s? Some areas are tougher than others and this type of car can be associated with drug dealers. Lol I hope he gets a sticker for the back window that says “ POOKIES PLEASURE PALACE”.

I like Judge Bryant. She takes no crap at all in court. She will have respect. The defendant will be respectful. Plus Judge Bryant comes from the life of hard knocks, having once been homeless. Judge Bryant is a magnificent, wise, and fair judge, and has been in dire situations herself. And yes, she has compassion and empathy. What better person to be a Judge? Any defendant that is respectful to Judge Bryant will find that she will always give the same respect back, and she will understand defendants situations. However, if you upset Judge Bryant or lie she will make it her personal duty to sort you out period. Good on Judge Bryant for that. That's the sort of Judge I like. She will call every defendants bluff when they spin out BS and lies. Advice? Come to Judge Bryant's 36th Court in person.....and bring a big bag of Lays potato chips and chocolates! You will be in Judge Bryant's good books straight away!!
