Greetings from South Africa. I believe you're doing these test with the 300tdi Engine This is one of my favourite engines from Land Rover as well as the 2.4 TDCI.

You can switch whilst driving between low and high, here's how: Start off in Lo & come up through the gears until you reach 4th Lo. Hopefully, you should now be on a suitable strech of road, either flat or with a slight downhill gradient. Dip the clutch & drop the transfer box into Neutral and bring the clutch back up. (Double de-clutch) Prepare to go into Hi (ie. get your hand in the lever ready) and as soon as you dip the clutch you need to drop it into Hi. While the clutch is down, select 2nd and then bring the clutch up.

funroverdotcom ..............and crunch! :D. I really meant it would be nice to have a 16 speed splitter box like trucks. Realistically the box is not designed to be changed dynamically but I get what you are saying. Can you show us on a video how it is done Ben?

***** Point is, it can be done whilst moving - and the above method is approved by Land Rover (taught at LRE). If done correctly it's not bad

The owners manual states that it can be done at speeds from 0 to 5 MPH which is noted as an advanced method,.... or as normal, bring the vehicle to a stop then change. From an engineering point of view the dog clutch selector does not have a synchro hub/ baulk ring on it, Do it wrong or at speed then it will damage the dog teeth on the gear so is it a technique worth the expense if you can't get it right?

Thanks for the great info. I have a 1996 90 300tdi. It has new tires on the front (balanced) that match slightly warn same model on the back. On the highway around 55 ~ 60mpr I get a vibration for about a second every 3 seconds or so? Feels the same as a phone on vibrate. Feel it on the wheel and test of truck. Where should I start looking (novice here). Cheers @trailerfitteres

Land Rover Toolbox Videos it's on Craigslist in Cincinnati, Ohio. his asking price is $11,000 which seems high to me. I can't find much information on the value of ex mod 110s online.

Ex MOD vehicles, unfortunately, are fetching premium prices. Withams Ex MOD website is a good guideline for prices. They are the official outlet for the UK MOD.

Mine was just like that. Replaced the cable (and then noticed a leak on the transferbox, replaced the seal), now speedo is just fine =)

***** Ahhh I see ... I wondered if it was a opsy in editing ... I recall there's a way of duplicating the channel so it comes over both speakers? Not good at that stuff myself but used to work with a company that did editing for sky and whatnot...

Matt Allen Yes you can pull the MONO left channel and place it on the right to create a faux stereo

my speedo reads over, so ill be doing say 60 an the speedo will read 70 or eve 75, seems ok up to about 30 but then after that the speedo goes into wish mode and reads mad speeds that i wish i could do in the ex mil 90, any ideas how to make it read realisticly, bearing in mind i am in canada and they are quite rare beasts where i am,

Interesting. Not sure if the speedo drive gearing in the transferbox is different to give you that. Don't quote me on that but I'll keep it in the back of my mind until I get to ask a specialist about it.

What to look for wheel bearings gearbox transfer box hi/lo head gaskin sterling breaks Rotton chassis just about evething about it so basically avoid all landrover products!!
