I agree completely! I hated his portrayal in Studio Squad, and originally thought he couldn’t be redeemed. Yet, I was HOPING that he would. After seeing the Snyder Cut, I fully get and actually appreciate what they were going for: having him be a Joker throughout different Ages of comic books. It also made me re-contextualize how I viewed the 2016 Suicide Squad film, knowing that an Ayer Cut exists and has entirely different footage and scene takes used. In Studio Squad, it feels like WB kept Leto’s worst acting takes and cut the scenes he nailed. Clearly there he’s mostly meant to be the mobster, but I think the setting of Apokolips Earth is perfect to transition him into a more chaos-obsessed maniacal Joker. I also see how his character’s mannerisms and annoying little bits would play SO WELL with Batfleck.

I honestly never hated Jared Leto’s Joker. There was unfortunately a lot of cringy and weird aspects to his portrayal, but also some really good stuff that kinda got drowned out by the bad. His return in the Snyder Cut really cemented in my mind that while I wouldn’t say he’s the perfect or best Joker, Jared Leto’s Joker is a solid version of the character and works really well opposite Ben Affleck’s Batman.

The performance he gave in ZSJL is fuckin way better than the Suicide Squad bs. And I would love to see more of this Joker in another movie. I think a Ben Affleck Batman vs Joker type of series on HBO Max would be awesome. If course that will never happen, but I'd be very interested if it did. For me personally, Jared Letos Joker in ZSJL is in my too three favorite live action Jokers to date. Joaquin Phoenix Heath Ledger Jared Me to I NEVER would've thought that was possible, although looking back at Suicide Squad, I could see that a brilliant Joker was somewhere in there because Jared Leto is a fantastic actor. This randomly came on my suggestion but I'm glad it did. The ending was hilarious with the transformers nod! I've always been a fan since suicide squad. Yes his performance had some very cringeworthy stuff but the rest of it wasn't bad at all. Like when he got in the cops face after he kissed his ring and was like "I can tell you meant that" to me that screamed psychopath.and yes this was a different take on a joker but for me as long as he was sadistic and seemed to enjoy himself in the portrayal that is all i needed from a joker. In regards to the cancelled Harley & Joker movie, WB had a chance to make the best Bonnie & Clyde story to be told since the actual Bonnie & Clyde story and they fkd it up.
