I’m pretty sure Kenny already explained at some point that they weren’t planning on watching fire force because its fan service is super extreme. (I could be wrong though).

@@MaryBaker-ev6cu I get where Kenny might be coming from, but honestly, labeling Fire Force as having "super extreme" fan service feels like a stretch. While it does have moments of fan service (like many anime do), it doesn’t overshadow the incredible storytelling, unique world-building, and intense action sequences. The concept of spontaneous human combustion and how it ties into the show’s lore is so well-executed, making it one of the most creative modern shonen anime. If we compare it to something like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Code Geass, both of those have fan service elements too, but it doesn’t take away from their brilliance. In the same way, Fire Force uses its lighter moments to balance its darker, more serious themes about heroism, faith, and corruption. I’d say it’s worth giving it a shot because you might find yourself loving everything else it brings to the table.

rewatching the show now, i have a new headcanon/theory, that kafka had 0% used because he is actively suppressing his kaiju powers all the time; seeing that most of the other applicants aren't like. superhuman or anything, or really trained to use the suits at all aside from kikoru, you'd expect an average person to have at least 5%, or something around that margin. but because kafka is intentionally suppressing his kaiju powers, it might make the suit not work properly! but, while the way he "levels up" seems to be something normal that happens, it has a somewhat worrying implication if my headcanon is true...

I think the reason the Kafka was at 0% was because he constantly has to hold himself back to not accidentally transform or trigger his powers in any way…that or it’s because he’s one the more physically out of shape trainees…

Considering said percentages are for "Unleashed Combat Potential", I think it's more that his full potential is ALREADY unleashed... In his Kaiju form, so it's harder to "access" in human form via the suit because it basically trying to draw said UCP from the Kaiju side instead of able to directly tap into it Plus since the suits are made out of Kaiju stuff or at least mimic them, it's basically like having to use a complete different Kaiju form that's constrained by the limitations of human tech and understanding of Kaiju
