One thing you should have mentioned with prot is that it increases your healers effectiveness. If you heal 10 hp on someone with 50% prot their effective hp just increased by 20 as long as they only get hit by physical attacks

Preventative defenses always increase effectiveness of healing. That's all of them except health. Dodge makes less attacks hit, so stress and health healing are more effective, protection makes direct damage hit for less, so healing is more effective, and bleed and blight resistances make dots stick less, so less damage is taken, and healing is more effective.

Always think that this game purposely doesn't really favor you around defensive matter. Since this game's main design is purposely intended to simulate negative emotions (stress, fear, despair, etc.) of exploration in a darkest dungeon which realized in the game design as being unfair or being heavily one sided against the player's favor when it comes to survivability

just in the first weeks, then you can get hwm with riposte and beat the shit out of every enemy, the simulator of stress , fear , despair stays as a simulator, but for the side of the enemies(it can change if you fight the siren and she lures your hwm, than the simulator get 25521541 times worse

15:00 sure, but I would still have one of the points for dodge be proactive as well, actually moreso than resistancesm, considering you wouldn't need to hit the resist check in the first place if you dodge the attack.

In my eyes, Prot is always more important than Max HP; Max HP is a nice buffer, but you would have to heal to full, or above your normal maximum to benefit from that 6 hp or so again. Prot continuously saves you HP, and I would argue the 5% prot stone is better than something like Life Stone, as at most youll get 12 hp on a leper, but shaving 1 hp off of 12 hits means you already match the hp differential. On anyone else, it's even worse. That being said Dodge is better Edit: Forgot to mention it makes healing even easier on someone like Leper, as you can offset enemy damage far easier

I used to just ignore protection, but having to do huge heals on the high HP characters is making me rethink that.

For years I've been obsessed over the concept of an "Evasion Tank". A frontliner who instead of relying on protections and bulk relies on dodge, a high-risk high reward build where you either take no damage or take most of it. I've had this happen during certain runs and I wonder if a high-dodge strategy is the key to actually beating The Miller during Endless Harvest cause for the love of The Ancestor I can't seem to beat him.

The 2 stats I put the majority of my focus on are accuracy and dodge. I'd say in the majority of situations it doesn't matter how much damage you CAN do if you never hit the enemy so accuracy is #1 but you also are way less likely to die if the enemy can't hit you so dipping into a vat of vegetable oil and throwing a dance party like the guys in the darkest dungeon is probably a good tactic for prolonging your life.

Also keep in mind that your blight/bleed/disease/stun resistances technically *stack* with your dodge skill. Once your dodge skill check has failed, THEN a whole series of other checks can be made, but remember the checks are being preselected by having to overcome the dodge check first!

how to get the best dodge: 4 MAA, thats it, thats all, you get a 30 + 40 witouth counting trinkets, i defeated the countess with only 2 MAA, one vestal and one antiquarian, it was hard and slow but is posible

Your chance to hit is your (accuracy - their dodge stat) +5 = hit chance, so if you have 100 accuracy and they have 30 dodge, your chance is 75%. It would be nice if the game explained this lol
