Tyr might be my favorite lore. Also Fun Fact: Surtr was a super hyped release. There's an objective in the Conquest game mode that teams fight over, that if your team defeats it you're basically(not literally) unstoppable for 5 minutes, called The Fire Giant. That's why a bunch of other random gods were fighting him in his trailer, and he said he just wants this to stop(us killing him every game, usually more than once lol). His ultimate being the meteor instead of plunging his sword in the ground is because when the Fire Giant objective used to spawn in the game it would fall into the map as a meteor, and it's just a nod to that.

That 'little girl' Ullr is shooting at is the Greek monster Scylla. She is hiding a lot of wolf-headed tentacles under that skirt. Ullr is also a very on/off god, in that when changes are made so that he is in the meta, he absolutely slaps, but once he is no longer meta due to balance changes or whatever, he's kind of dogwater. There really isn't a middle ground in terms of gameplay with him, he's never average, he's either really good or really bad :P In one of the myths, Thor's hammer Mjolnir is stolen by Thrymr, king of the jotuns, and his price for its return is Freya's hand in marriage. Loki comes up with a plan to sneak Thor into Thrymr's hall by dressing him up as Freya in a wedding dress, complete with veil to hide his face, and once they're inside, Thor takes up Mjolnir and strikes down Thrymr and all of his warriors. In the game, the devs paid homage to this myth by giving Thor the "Valkyrie Bride" skin and it is amazingly hilarious hehehe The reason you like the stories so much is because that's exactly what Norse mythology was about. Vikings confined to their halls in the deep winters, or to the limits of their ships while on raids, would tell these stories to entertain and bolster their resolve, as their gods were benevolent defenders of order and humanity, unlike the Greek gods who were petty and vengeful. The jotuns represented chaos and wild places, which is why the Aesir were at war with them, to keep the realms safe for everyone else. Up until Season 10, Surtr was the Fire Giant objective on the Smite map, where when killed by one team or the other, would provide them with a big buff to damage and sustain as they stole his power. In game lore he was chained by the Gods due to them knowing he would be the cause of Ragnarok, but in Season 10 he'd finally had enough and broke free from his restraints, becoming playable. He also began gathering more monsters to him, namely Martichoras, the Manticore King (another long requested playable god). He was replaced with a new "Fire Giant" who looks more demonic and isn't really tied to anything in lore or myth, just a placeholder for Surtr now that he's free. In myth, Surtr is the King of the fire jotunn from Muspellheim, the realm of eternal flames. He is fated to face off against Freyr, Freya's brother and god of the Alfar (Elves), and he will win that battle since Freyr traded away his magic sword that could fight by itself so that he could marry the giantess Gerdr, so Freyr grabs an antler off the battlefield and uses that instead. He loses, and at the end of the fighting, Surtr sprays all the realms with flames, burning everything to ashes.

Loki got a complete redesign and rework of his abilities at some point. Now his 2 is a decoy that creates a poison cloud around it that poisons you if you step on it, and if you stand on it for three ticks (seconds) it places a poison cloud in front of the screen, making you partially blind for a few seconds (you can see around the rim of the cloud), whereas his 3 is now a flurry of melee strikes.

Ullr is the stepson of Thor! He is the son of the goddess Sif and a Giant named Urvandill! That makes Thor his step-father.

Okay, so Odin and Ymir are two of the gods missing from this draft and Loki got redesigned and reworked, which are the only issues that could occur with your drafts. The map Tyr was on was an old map for the game mode joust, which is 3 on 3. Surtr had some history because before becoming a character, he was a jungle boss monster, only called the fire giant, that required a teamfight to secure and thus the trailer was supposed to hype up him specifically becoming playable, with his ultimate being how he used to enter the battlegrounds. I am curious about the Greek god draft because they would definitely be a pantheon that I'd expect there to not be full trailers of all the characters for, but they are a bulk of the roster, so it is easy to accidentally not notice one

Ullr is mostly prayed to by exiled, hunters and outsiders. Ullr prefers the company the wilds and finds Asgard clausterphopic and the Gods full of them selves and prideful. Ullr invented the ski to get around the glorious slopes You can think of him as the architype Ranger from movies or DnD

Initially, Thor's 2 just stunned enemies and didn't damage them, but he recently received a buff where it now damages any enemies it hits. Also, when Thor throws Mjolnir with his 1, if he presses his 1 again, he can teleport to Mjolnir's location, which is a pretty effective method of escaping enemies that are pursuing you.
