Honkai Star Rail Version Trailers Reaction | 2.3-2.7

In terms of the last trailer. For 2.7 the current patch, it's more of a smaller patch wrapping up a few hanging threads from the last 2 years and setting the stage for the new planet we're getting next patch. All the 2.7 trailers (Myriad, Character, and Patch) all require context to really understand what is happening since this was much more of a quiet story patch rather then combat focus. So there's less showy scenes to show off. It's actually been one of the more hype patches since it features two fan favorite characters: Fugue/Tingyun and Sunday. They both played a large part in the Luofu and Penacony arc's respectively and it's proven really interesting to see how the events of the story has affected them. But it would make the trailer a little less engaging for someone that hasn't played the game. Plus it added a customizable bedroom for the player character lol.

Origami Bird is just a silly little guy. No major plot significance, you just go around Penacony finding them by yanking them out by their "feather antenae" 😆. Yup, lots of fans have noticed the similarities between Jade and Yae Miko. The werewolf event was neat. Yunli is pretty great, love her trailers and character quest.

That little pink pig thing is a Tuskpir. It's based on the Japanese Baku yokai. A dream eater demon. The 2.5 patch introduced a new pet system. The Tuskpir is the Trailblazer's pet. And here's a little FYI the guy with the halo in the last trailer is Sunday. Sunday is a priest not a wizard like Dr. Strange. If you play the game then you'll understand the trailer.

I gotta ask. When it comes to watching these version trailers. For you two specifically, do you feel like the HSR trailers require more context for you to understand than the Genshin trailers? By that I mean, on your recent Genshin version trailers on Patreon, you Beth mentioned how Paimon is pretty much the anchor for you two to recognize and get some sort of grasp of the version is about. Is there nothing like that for the HSR ones for you two?

Yeah HSR seems harder for us to have an anchor than Genshin. Even before we knew the story of Genshin it seemed like the trailers were easier to follow 🤗

I would say the last trailer had to do with more overall plot/bigger picture stuff in the story compared to the others. Definitely some things in those patches that people current in the story are excited for, or at least forced to pay attention to.

I deeply admire the amount of work Sparkle went to in retrospect now that we can appreciate it. Even if I have to be annoyed about the absolute confirmation of my initial suspicion that she was screwing up half a dozen of her disguises on purpose for attention.
