I think the Cartoon Dog on the younger brother's shirt (F in chat) was a take on "Underdog"... I loved that cartoon, it came out in the early 60s but it was still running when I was a kid in the 90s. Plus I loved getting underdogs on the playground where someone pushes you on a swing from behind and goes under you and you go really high. You had to be a kid to know this classic playground move.

Once again, this show masterfully demonstrates how you write a villain main character, and a famous villain at that, and not cop out by just making their enemy so much more worse than them. They place Oz in the the protagonist seat and keeps him there, and yet allows the audience to feel several viable and appropriate emotions, including empathy and disdain at times. But at the end of the day, HE IS A BAD GUY who has done horrible things, and the show does not try to justify his actions or paint him as actually heroic (cough cough Agatha coughs sneeze). Edit: Oz definitely knew eventually. IMO He was waiting for them at the window initially, but as he settled down with his mother and got the attention he craved, I think he slowly made the decision. I think that's why we never see his reaction to the news, just the aftermath of his mom's mental state.

This show has been exceptional! Love it. This episode is the first one that felt… edited (probably not a good explanation but it’s what comes to mind). All the episodes prior felt so natural it almost seemed as if you were in it. This episode was still great but it felt like it bounced around a bit. Great breakdown as always!

1:23 You were wondering about the shirt that Benny wears. I believe that's Muttley the dog, faithful sidekick to Snidely Whiplash. Who are they, you ask? They were the principal villains in the Dudley Do-Right cartoons of the Fifties and Sixties. These cartoons were actually short side stories put into the middle of Rocky and Bullwinkle episodes. And if you have to ask who *they* were, well, you'll just have to Google that yourself and make a wonderful discovery.
@DinerLingo20 күн бұрын
Actually Muttley is Dick Dastardly’s sidekick, not Snidely’s. Muttley & Dick are from the Hanna-Baberra universe. Snidely is from the Jay Ward universe (Rocky & Bullwinkle etc). Snidely dressed in the classic top hat evil villain look. Dick in a Red Baron-esque look. Both looked the same other than their attire & both twirled their long evil mustaches.

PREDICTION: The Batman Part 2 will have a mob element with Penguin being the focus. Here we are introduced to Dent. The film ends with Batman defeating the villain/saving them, having finally learned how to use his Bruce persona to help the public. Meanwhile, Oz will be arrested. The final scene will be Penguin throwing acid in Dent's face, setting up a Dent show where we see him spiral from a scarred DA into Two-Face. Oz will have a legacy of the last of the mob family trying to stay afloat, but in their scrambles creates a new era: The era of the freaks.

I think oz did know it was going to kill them, but wasn’t his initial plan. He looks back out the window and sees the jar fill up, it symbolizes his inner thoughts and realization. Once he looks back at the tv and is enjoying the attention he smiles a tiny bit (like he always does when he gets his way)

The reason why he think that he did it intentionally was because he kept looking back at the window, then back at the TV and smiling. It also fits with his MO from this universe. Oz clearly doesn’t give a crap about anybody but his mom and himself. So I can fully see that being a factor.

In the scene with Sophia and Gia, Sophia is wearing a shield signet ring, which have been historically past down in wealthy, powerful families and would often be gold engraved with the family crest. But Sophia’s is emerald and when the light shines on it, the signet is blank. I read that as having two different interpretations. It could represent a blank slate without any family influence, which would make sense given that Sophia was telling Gia that she could get out of Brookdale and have a fresh start. Or another way it could be interpreted is that the blank signet symbolizes a lack of connection and family or even the family lineage being wiped out-complete emptiness as the green of the emerald shines as a representation of greed, money, and power.

My Theory is Sofia will have Vic and Oz's mother and she'll make him k ill one of them to save the other. I think Oz will k ill Vic. Or, which would be even more insane, Oz will k ill both of them to save himself. Oz's mother did say that she wanted him to do it when the time comes. Just a theory but would be a crazy twist at the end, this would really drive home that we as fans should not be rooting for Oz.

@TheCulinaryMercenary- thats because you don't want to ruin your relationship with these companies. His murder (or accidental murder) of his brothers showed how even early on he reacted badly to anything that might’ve hurt his pride or any thing that might point to his lame leg. His brothers putting themselves in a place that’d make it hard for him to follow because of his leg instantly triggers him. They might not have meant it that way but anything that reminds him of his limp, like being called Penguin, in an instant death for those who do it. It’s the same situation as in the intro with Alberto.

18:14 They literally said they used the same set of Arkham for that scene in the episode’s epilogue A couple other things I would’ve mentioned in this: him watching the movie of the actor seemingly shooting the other actors with his cain in a nod to penguin’s comic book umbrella that often serves as a firing weapon amongst others. Also Crown Point being “No Man’s Land” is even closer to the comic now that the ground has been quaked by the bombing.
