Is there any job that could possibly match the DPS of Samurai? Let alone surpass its parse. And I'm not talking about a Samurai with both Shifu (Mind of the Samurai) and Jinpu (Rush of Battle), boosting attack damage and speed by 12%. I'm not talking about Samurai with Hissatsu (Hidden Technique): Kaiten (Turn the Heavens) boostedMidareSetsugekka (Chaos Slash- Snow,Moon, Flowers) either, and this skill is only usable by one who has mastered the peerless concentration of the warrior's state of mind, doing a total of 1080 potency. Hell, I'm not even talking about a combo using Hissatsu: Kaiten boosted Higanbana (Mourning Flowers), placing a DoT of 3510 potency, using Meikyo Shisui (Standing Water, Perfect Mirror Reflection) to instantly deliver a Kaiten boostedMidareSetsugekka and finishing with Hissatsu: Guren (Crimson Lotus), dealing a total of nearly 5400 potency in the space of a couple of seconds. No, I'm talking about Samurai possessing the secret technique Hissatsu: Senei (Thousand Blades), a more powerful version of Hissatsu: Guren that does 1250 potency to a single foe, and who has mastered Tsubame-gaeshi, the technique of the REGEND Sasaki Koijiro, enabling him to perform Kaeshi (Reversal) forms of his most powerful abilities, which allows him to unleash his ultimate combo of Kaiten: Higanbana, followed by Hissatsu: Senei in the space between his next move Kaiten:MidareSetsugekka, and finally Tsubame-Gaeshi unleashes Kaeshi:MidareSetsugekka dealing 1200 immediately. Samurai has just done 7040 POTENCY in the LITERAL BLINK of an EYE.

THIS is how you make creative and quality content as a FFXIV content creator. This was so refreshing compared to those who slap their mug on the screen instead of true gameplay and go on and on with their feelings, or burst into tears after getting 50k subs. Good grief. Your pronunciations are spot on, and true north had me rolling. Only other things to mention is using Doom of the Living as soon as 3 LB bars fill up. Doesn't matter what's going on. And if you play this job, you will learn Japanese whither you want to or not. Sub+1 you deserve far more.

The most difficult thing about learning how to play Sam is trying to follow a video for the rotation and being confused when the person in the video lists out the abilities in order for your opener/rotation because of their fucking names lol.

SAM start is unfair by default. game throws the skills in your hotbar in a mess and within first quest you are supposed to use them in a staged fight without any time to learn. "rotations --> sen" mechanics are not mentioned at all afaik

@@rivenoak Oh yeah I did learn how to play and everything when I first unlocked it and got it up to level 80, but a few months ago I tried to follow a rotation, listening to a video state the abilities in order, but because of the ability names it confused the hell out of me and I couldn't follow the video. I don't have any second monitor or other means to look at the ability icons shown on the video, so hearing the names and knowing what's what and figuring it out with trial and error like I usually do with guides didn't work because of its abilities names.

I think it’s important to mention that these guides are intended for level 80 jobs, but the way you structure them at least takes into account the pace of acquiring abilities. Also, the section which introduces kenki should note the kendo mastery 2 trait which causes faster generation, and that before you wil only have enough kenki to Kaiten a Midare every 3 Sen in single-target

There is exactly one instance where using Tsubame on the dot might be a dps gain and that is when you need to dot exactly 2 enemies who have large health pools simultaneously.

I don't think it is. On two targets I think it's better dps to dot each target separately > mekkio (combo) > midare > tsubame midare.

Hagakure is great for Kenki buildup when you have no reason to spend Sen though
@stellaacevedo5633
@stellaacevedo5633 3 жыл бұрын
exactly, when do you have no reason to spend sen? here let’s do some math it eats whatever sen you have and gives you 10 kenki for each sen it eats. this isn't worth it like, ever, because eating 3 sen will give you 30 kenki which is enough for 1 use of shinten (320 potency). those 3 sen could have been used for midare setsugekka (800 potency, or 1200 with kaiten which costs 20 kenki for an additional 400 potency). the only logical use for hagakure is if you accidentally gathered all 3 sen but you are walking up on a pack that you will want to use aoe on. you can now execute a single kyuten (which, mind, would require a pack of 8 to do more potency than a midare setsugekka with kaiten) and also allow you to empty your sen gauge so you can work towards a tenka goken rather than midare setsugekka. so sure it has its very niche uses, but it’s *mostly* useless
@EmptyTenementSpirit
@EmptyTenementSpirit 3 жыл бұрын
@@stellaacevedo5633 Cleaner re-openers is one reason to use Hagakure, another is if between pulls, you need to reset your Sen so you're not overcapping, and I mean bosses, with mobs it honestly doesn't matter, but it helps if you just want to get to Tenka faster again. Another particularly nice use of it is buildup of Sen in situations where you cannot use Ikishoten (for whatever reason, primarily being out of combat), or Meditation. Niche =/= bad. Hagakure is far from a useless button, and I always find myself physically in agony when I end up doing content that syncs me to a level where I do not have Hagakure. Is it THE most useful button? No, but I love it and I don't get the perspective that it's useless.
@stellaacevedo5633
@stellaacevedo5633 3 жыл бұрын
hey that’s fair enough lol. maybe i should use it more often. i guess it is situational but bad is not the same as situational
@EmptyTenementSpirit

@@stellaacevedo5633 Yeah I can definitely see why using Hagakure doesn't really enter into the process for a lot of people. It's more one of those little "optimization" things that you don't really have to care about, but it is nice to have if you do.
