Flaps video is definitely a brilliant idea. Especially since they shouldn't simply be used every time you turn/take off/land, but when actually needed. I'm pretty sure I'd learn few ne things from a video like that. So do it! Just do it!

@@Webly101 Using Take off and Landing flaps is actually pretty self-explanatory. When you spawn, drop the flaps to take off position, full throttle and after you get airborne retract them. Same with landing. Throttle to 0, few sharp turn to bleed speed and flaps down stage by stage, looking for flaps rip warning. In most props you can take off and land without using flaps. They are not necessary but helpful. In some bombers and attackers with heavy load, you may need flaps. The thing is, that flaps change the geometry of the wing in such manner, that they increase lift but also increase drag. You need lift on take offs and landing, so this is when they come handy the most. The tricky part is when you should exploit this tradeoff during dogfight, when you need to optimize your agility and energy retention. And for this a nice tutorial would be needed.

I remember starting the German grind and getting to my first Fw 190. I was so nervous going into my first 3.0+ match and thought I'd get shot down right away. Got 2 kills in a win and I've love the 190's ever since. Especially the A-1 with multiple 7.92 guns. I don't know why but I prefer 4 small calibre guns with 3400 rounds over the later armament on the 190's. The numerous rounds of ammo helps make up for my terrible aim.

Yeah but imo the plus about the 7.92 is simply being able to pray and for enemy to bleed speed. The 151 doesn't have the ammo and the range of that kind of thing.

Nice to hear someone say that this plane can turn fight with proper flap/energy usage. Can't tell you how many times I've straight up gone balls to the wall in the a5/u2 and surprised players. At corner speed those first 2 turns are usually all you need to end a fight 90% of the time. Tight split S at the merge is a classic move that gives you angles almost instantly cutting inside anything that isn't a spitfire or japanese. Strong landing flaps have come in handy so many times in low speed rolling scissors. Would also add that I have tk'd players for blatant kill steals like that, no remorse

Very funny how there's many planes with reputation for poor turn but no one knows about their flaps. Landing flaps on P-47D-28 and M-1 are a good example of this, everyone knows the Jug is fast, fat and doesn't turn but what they don't know is that at low speeds with landing flaps it will outturn a lot of fighters (barring obvious ones like Spitfires, Yak-3's and Zeros)

The amount of space climbing asses in their J2M's , XP 50 that dive on me only to either get reversed or start scissors is utterly hilarious. Also no one expects the 190/P47 climbing spiral so it's hilarious seeing pilots pitch up for easy kills only to get a face full of lead . I've won so many fights with spitfires by diving below them before the merge and then instantly convert that speed into vertical energy

A-5 not so much speed itself but its rip speed and flap rip speed is nuts with an amazing armament and the d9 is just bread and butter. good for ground (500kg) bomb and 2x13mm 2x20mm for air. Personally i prefer the d9 over the d12 mostly because ammo count even though i prefer the 30mm nose mounted :)

One of (if not) the best 190 in the game great performance overall combine with low BR. Guaranteed 1+ kill per game if you're not ran out of luck I use this plane to grind most of the rank I-III

D9 is the most agile and powerful 190 (well except the premium D13 which has stronger ailerons and can roll better) It can one circle the K4 at 450 with take off flaps and spanks the french P63 in a stall fight

I used to fly 109s all the time until I finally tried the FWs and they are such amazing planes. They’re fast, extremely powerful, they take hits for days like the American Corsair does, they have great cannons and lots of MG rounds and are just super fun to fly.

Well you gotta think, the Corsair is made for high speed dive/energy fights. So if you get hit in a bad spot and you’re flying correctly you’ll fly apart like a piñata because of the high speed. But typically any wing and main fuselage shots can be taken quite a bit. I love it. Edit: I mainly play the 3.3 USMC Corsair so maybe the others are a bit different in taking dmg I’m not sure.

Personally I like the F4U 1D corsair, which got moved down to 3.0 from 3.3 for no reason. But now it shreds apart everything else just because of speed difference

If you're a 190 fan / enthusiast like me you should get digital combat simulator 'dcs' and get at least the fw190 a. I have the Dora as well. Very accurate. It's a simulator so you have to accurately control every aspect of the aircraft just as in real life. You can control every single knob, dial, switch, lever, ect and you get real world reactions. If your fuel/air mix is too rich with your prop angle to fine you can get knock and blow your engine..and so on. I'm downloading war thunder right now to give it a try. Kurt tank the designer of the fw190 said 'if the bf109 is a racehorse then the fw190 is a warhorse ' it was by far the best designed fighter of ww2 and aspects of that design such as redundant electrical systems for your control surfaces are things that were used first in the 190 and still used today by every single serious designer on the planet.

How would you compare the Fw 190 in War Thunder Vs DCS? Apparently in reality it could beat the Spitfire in every single category. Meanwhile in War Thunder it has a high roll rate and everything else is absolutely abysmal

@@norfangl3480 I've noticed games have to worry more about fair matching than they do historical accuracy. so they end up doing things like pairing late war spitfires against mid war fw190's . if they didn't do that everyone would just pick the German planes every time lol. but that inaccurate pairing is really bad in war thunder. you do see it in dcs but not as bad. but like my previous comment dcs if far more detailed and accurate while war thunder is easier quicker matches with far less thought required.

They largely leave it up to the player base to vote on BR changes. A few weeks before they make them they make threads in the forums where anyone can make suggestions. Planes like the F4U-1s and P-39N have been getting asked to go down in BR for a while now and Gaijin recently let them do it.

I think a lot of people have a problem with climbing properly, maybe it’s just me and I’m trying to speak for everyone like a douchbag but it seems no matter what plane I play from 109’s to P51’s there is always someone playing the same plane with almost a 1 to 1.5 km altitude advantage. So how do you personally climb with the climbing speeds that are given? Like with a 109 should you try to wep as long as possible at 20* or get your speed up then climb at a faster IAS?

In lows br normaly ppl dont clib and dont put atention. Just dive for the first person bein spoted and made a furbi ball o planes in te mid of the map. If you are a skilled pilot (im not) you can carri lot of match loke this. Dosent matter which plane u are fliying. God vid.

It's crazy you find lobbies like this, %95 of my lobbies in 3.0 is lvl 100 players that either are using p 39 n's and wont split from each other or they just run to their spawn when you get within 5 miles of them and just hide in their aa bubbles and it's quite literally almost every game for me... I watched your vid about the bf 109 K-4 so many times It helped me a lot I can kill P-51H, F2G, F4U-4B but the Spitfire is buffed, extremely buffed there is no way a thing can do such things( stay on your 6, outclimb you, one shot you always, turn like a bird, 5s for turning) Like what’s my advantage?! Hello there! :D Great content from what I've seen. If you're into more advanced stuff, I can recommend hot-keying the "change control scheme" and bringing your 190 into a flat spin to bleed speed if you're in trouble, then get back to mouse aim and get back control of your aircraft

I'm trying to get better with flap usage. I often deploy them too late and forget to raise them again when I go to extend away. This is one of my fav planes so far though I usually stay high on the outskirts of the centre and pick of lone rangers and people that get too close in a stall. Get usually 6-8 kills a game with 1 or 2 planes usually this and the p-47D-16-RE
