Yeah I was soooo hyped for this game and was really let down. It wasn’t bad per se but everything felt basic and dumbed down. It just felt like you were watching a movie. You never really got to explore and live in the world. I feel like Spidey 1 was way better. Hopefully Wolverine isn’t like this game🤞

I think insomniac should just drop whatever dlc they had planned it gives the game more replay value and it can pay off what was set up in the previous side missions with carnage and chameleon. Also it would be great to get more suits/ suit powers? Even with the leaks there are fans who still want to interact with insomniac spiderman stuff and it’s one of the most popular iterations of spiderman.

Which is weird looking at the game. There's games like god of war ragnarok with a longer story and soooo much more side content that is sooo much more exiciting and challenging and engaging. A lot of spiderman 2's side content doesn't even involve any action at all and there's very little of it and the story is also pretty short. Cyberpunk has multiple endings and has a story 3x as long, with a MASSIVE dlc with soo much side content that isn't much memorable but it still works and makes sense and gives the player something to do. Spiderman 2 could really benefit from a content increase, 100% on base game and then 100% on NG+ is not enough to match a single playtrough on other games which is ridiculous. On top of that 1 year later and we have not seen any kind of dlc that can give it a content increase. The first game had 3 dlc each with individual side content only a few months after the game's initial release. Most of it is indeed improved compared to the first game for sure, but in some aspects I liked msm remastered better than the 2nd game.

As fun as it could have been it couldn't have fixed the story pacing issues or Venom characterization or anything major, just added on, so I think maybe saving those things like Carnage for SM 3 would make more sense.

I'm just worried that if they decide to save Carnage for SM3, then the game is going to be overstuffed with a bunch of random crap. Like, Carnage would most likely completely overshadow Green Goblin, of whom we have been waiting three games for him to appear. And it would probably lead to them just copy-pasting the final act of this game but just changing the symbiotes from black to red. Edit: Like, in this game, because of all the story related stuff for Kraven. We barely got enough time to watch Peter develop in the Black suit. And then when Venom finally got revealed, well... His entire arc was rushed and cobbled together for the final act. If they do the same with Green Goblin, where Carnage is pushed off to the sidelines, or the exact opposite. Making Carnage the main hit while Green Goblin is secondary, that would suck. And do we really need a whole other $70 game just to finish the symbiote story arc? I feel like after the Venom game, that should be it... Maybe in SM3, give Harry the Anti-Venom suit with the help of the Fantastic 4. But other than that... No more symbiotes in SM3.

I'll be real - the reason Spider-Man 2 failed is because it was both poorly written and hit a lot of the same beats as before; it was a Spider-Man 1 remastered with new mechanics - starts off pretty normal at first, new villain shows up and causes trouble for Spider-Man, then twist villain unleashes plague on New York that takes a long time to clean up from which requires Peter to get a new suit to deal with said plague. Then you throw in the involvement with Sweet Baby Inc. and the stupid decisions on their part, the controversy surrounding their obvious facial degradation of women, the fact that Miles does NOTHING the entire story, and Venom being so out-of-character that he's practically Venom in name alone; how do you screw up this badly?

Not only was spiderman 2 a rehash with he friend turned villain made worse than miles morales. It's also a poorly rehashed version of stuff we've seen in other spiderman media. Harry is a black suited spider hero turned venom like in the Disney XD ultimate spiderman show. The black a white Anti-venom suit is from that even worse show where he's in horizon high. Everyone reminds of the characters in that show Symbiote invasion was in web of shadows, the shitty spiderman show They did a poor man's Kraven's last hunt They copied the spiderman 3 movie tie-in game beat got beat black suit spiderman chases an evolving lizard as Kraven hunts him. Love interest turns into a symbiote like in web of shadows. And yes the spiderman and Peter's worlds collide thing is overplayed at this point and becomes less organic as we move deeper into the series. At least on the first game it was organic with Otto unlike miles morales and spiderman 2 forcing it with flashbacks that scream "like this character so that the final fight is more emotional".

​@@baki484 the flashbacks would somewhat work if Harry was involved at all in the final fight. We just fight the symbiote goo monster instead of a symbiotic combination of Harry and the symbiote. It's pretty clear Harry has no control and doesn't want anything to do with the fight. The name "Venom" makes no sense either in this version because neither Harry nor the symbiote hate Peter. Like the entire point of the original name was that he's poison to Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

I’m just annoyed with Insomniac refusing to either Confirm or Deny on wether it’s Cancelled or not, or if it’s just listed as “Cut Content” that wasn’t supposed to remain in the game files. I get that they not allowed to talk about Confidential compriatary content but this DLC information is all out there & there’s no reason why they can’t just reassure & or provide any clarification on what is or isn’t “Cut Content” to properly inform their customers & tamper expectations.. It makes no sense to *NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE CONTENTS OF WHAT GETS LEAKED IF IT’S NOT SEEING ANY PUBLIC RELEASE* It’s just frustrating to not know if there’s something else to look forward to or if we’re supposed to just move on & wait until their next game. Also the great Webs development costs was forwarded onto the SM2 development costs to try to recoup some of their losses & on top of being stretched too thin with multiple different projects being in the works all at once that DLC wasn’t happening. Even if it wasn’t outright cancelled the remaining reserve studio funds were immediately allocated to repairing the damage caused by the Sony Hack which certainly would have killed any remaining chances for the DLC Development to be picked up again down the line.. Sony’s bet all their chips on Insomniacs success & overworked them with multiple projects & it’s backfired on them.

Oh man, the game was NOT worth the 70 dollar price tag. 22-25 hours to platinum the game and almost no replay value beyond different suits (the suit selection is also meh in this game, they removed a lot of suits that I liked from the first game only to replace them with shit ones.) One thing I’ve lost faith in is the “let them cook” they have cooked so long and it’s still undercooked. There needs to be a limit on game development it shouldn’t take nearly 5-8 years to develop one game and there missing features and feels like they had no clue what to do with the story. I don’t understand why people ever thought there was gonna be DLC the first game had a clear 3 chapter Season pass that was advertised and sold with the collectors edition and the deluxe edition Spider-Man 2 didn’t have any season pass advertised or bundled with any editions it’s that simple why would they sell a collectors edition of a game without a season pass just to sell dlc later down the line collectors editions are meant to be the most expensive version that has all the pre order bonuses and dlc so if the collectors edition doesn’t show any dlc it just isn’t happening I knew that before the game even came out

To the question of the day, I dont want DLC for spiderman2 I remember the bryan intihar interview with ted price where bryan admitted spiderman2 missed the quality bar in development in that interview, the MASSIVE amount of cut content for the base game plus the planned DLC that was revealed in the leaks id say was nearly 2/3 of what the game was supposed to be an the 1/3 insomniac did put out wasnt ground breaking, hack or no hack insomniac was given almost half a billion dollars to do spiderman2 an they didnt deliver. Ultimately I think everything needs to go into Marvel's wolverine an im concerned about that because on paper its not shaping up to be something better than what X-men Origins: wolverine uncaged was as a game. I wont spoil anything i'll just say insomniac is pulling inspiration from Raven software's wolverine but its not elements that made origins the best wolverine title.

I’m just worried that by not releasing any story DLC in relation to carnage or anything else set up in spider man 2 means that they will try and fit everything into the third game. I already feel lol the story in 2 had to much going on so I hope that they don’t make the same mistake in spider man 3

To the question of the day I do want DLC for this game. Many of us payed 70 dollars on top of that $500 dollars for the console it came on. It sets a bad precedent that this company doesn’t follow through with its commitments, even before the leaks we knew we were getting something. Giving DLC would restore some of the faith for those who were thoroughly disappointed with the games main campaign and tbh shit happens what’s important is to dust yourself off and don’t let the hackers feel successful with their hack

Yeah I want DLC and for it to cap off on the on goin stories for things that are left open and we can see the forward moving of the next game. Not jus what we got at the end of the games.

I think it's better for there to be DLC if possible. I worry that a lot of the plot threads in MSM2 that happened separate from the main story, it's all going to be juggled poorly in MSM3 (if that even happens).

I still think there’s a chance dlc is dropping because I feel like if they weren’t gonna do it anymore they would’ve said something similar to how they reassured people that wolverine was still on they way. I don’t think insomniac would be this secretive about dlc just for it to not be happening anymore but maybe that’s just me

It's hard to believe Insomniac ruined the Venom storyline when the Source material (both for the 616 and 1610 Universes) did it so much better. Sad.

I definitely think the hacking had something to do with this. I feel like they did plan it and other things caused it to be axed, or they're gonna rework or it never got that far at all. If we get more content, cool. However, at this point, I'm ready to see whatever else Insomniac makes and move on from the DLC talk.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Unfortunately, insomniac doesn't seem very proud of this project to begin with. It was very rushed with so much content being scrapped. Content that insomniac wanted that sony didnt. They rarely post about this game and the advertising for it was almost non existent as we got closer to release. It's just very night and day with this game vs Spiderman 2018. I knew it was going to be a problem when Sony bought them out and here we are. I honestly dont want DLC and I dont think they want it either. I could be wrong but it seems like they are just ready to move on, and I dont blame them.

I wouldn't mind story DLC like doing maximum carnage story line since one of the symbiote survived and took away. And costume DLC Like the Spiderman unlimited cartoon suit. But I agree spiderman 2 DLC silent is very suspicious?🤔

I just have a feeling they are gonna finish Wolverine and move on to Marvel Spiderman 3 and hopefully instead of focusing on a multiplayer mode 3 Finishes the story. And 4 could be the spiderverse like a modern web of shadows

it would be coo if insomniac released a director's cut, dlc and finally the wolverine game. I feel like the reason they don't communicate wit their supporters is due to sony rushing them to release sm2 and the unfortunate hack that they went thru. that probably put them in the position they're in now. the whole "what now" position. they don't know what to do. i'm still hopeful something will happen tho.

The game was unfinished, too short, and rushed. If they do not have DLCs, I will not buy the next game or games until they are on massive sale. Outside of the data breach, it’s inexcusable. The first two games were amazing. Miles could have been longer but I will refuse to buy a new one full price. Sony already fucks Spider-Man outside of Spider-verse so if they fail here. I’ll write them off just like Warner and DC. Same with Disney’s Star Wars.

I def still want it and think the game needs it to finish off the hunter and symbiote factions with a Chameleon and carnage dlc cause putting them in the third game along Green Goblin and possible superior Spider-Man is a big no no. But with each passing month the odds of it are at 99% not happening. I will say the 1% of it happening is that the last few PS exclusive dlcs dropped more than a year after the games released

Insomniac usually stays on the hush hush until games release DLC is weird they never really make DLC Spider-Man was one of their first I know they've done small stuff for ratchet. It wouldn't surprise me if they did release it at the end of the year or after Christmas.

They were working on dlc to where you can play as only ugly Mary Jane and Hayley but they saw all of the KZbinrs still complaining about it so they are saving it for Spiderman 3 and make you play as them every other mission

I'm kinda glad SpiderMan 2 is done. Firstly, for the purely selfish reason that I traded it in after I got the platinum. But more for the story reasons too. Carnage deserves his own game, not a DLC, maybe in a Venom spin-off. I'd also love a Miles Morales 2 game at some point.

Really sucks what happened to Insomniac in general with all the hacking stuff and it's hurting a lot of workers in the company so much. I love Marvel's Spider-Man 2 a lot and I'm enjoying so much. It wasn’t perfect and I never say every game has to be because even if a game isn’t perfect, it can either still be enjoyable or not so enjoyable or interesting, but I still love it. I'm not expecting them to do any DLC anytime soon, so maybe they're moving on to the next game and try not to reveal so much because of the hacks. We don’t know if it'll ever happen, but if it doesn’t, I understand. We all need to understand why they've gotten to this point and why the hacks had affected them. Also I agree that nobody deserves to be threatened and harassed. I don’t support any of it and nobody else does neither! I just feel really sorry for them.

they set the sidequests up specifically for DLC, im gonna be pissed if they just drop those story threads. even if its a spin-off/salad game like miles morales or whatever thats fine, but they cant just drop it, and they really shouldnt try to stuff it into S3, as crowded as its going to be already if they try to stuff more into it, its gonna be a disappointment like SM2 was (still love SM2, i have a platinum on it and nearly 200 hours but the story is nowhere near as good as it could have been if the focus was narrower or they had given it more time)

It is very sad what happened to Insomniac and I hope the thieves get their karma. As for potential dlc for Spider-Man 2 I’m 50/50 on it. I don’t particularly care about Beetle that much so I wouldn’t be too interested. Now if it was a dlc revolving around Calypso avenging Kraven now that would be interesting. Also there was that Venom game for 2025 that was revealed in the leak so I’m curious if that is still happening or not. 🤔
