Del, it has to be said 'you've outdone yourself', the body work you are doing on this build is amazing and inspirational!! Happy New year to you Del, darn you are a crafty bloke...like me, give me some tools and "What Do you Want Built" Now I do have 2 issues with this video and these are pretty serious.....#1 you are building a Japanese bike with a HARLEY sweatshirt on (not good) (>: ....2nd issue you mentioned a "SPITFIRE" intake looking air flow tube...excuse me that is a Hayabusa...maybe a Zero intake tube? I think either one with a grill inside would look outstanding. More importantly what ever you choose to install Im sure will fit in with the look of the bullet/cafe style faring.. Thumbs up for all your skills and tricks you display on your channel. Yea we all should chip in and send you a Honda shirt.

Thanks buddy, yu're dead right... mixing and matcing my genres there!... I think the Harley t-shirt is just a left over from the last project ha ha... Hi. I am not criticise it far from it, I am a bike lover of twin headlights, hell I have a Africa twin (previous model) and I hate the new model just because with two headlights ony one get on the other is off. This is just a idea you might consider for the future builds after our hard work you put in, the design of all those welded links of the front frame! I know you can't see it after everything is complete but they are there a bit doll compared with all the project. I hope it helps this observation. Cheers happy New Year to you all.

Happy New Year 2020 Del and Penny. So sorry for the long time absence. A lot going on in my world as I'm sure with yours. I was just hoping I could ask a question, or maybe, more of a suggestion. You know, I started watching your channel way back when you road a HD 883 Iron. I had a battery change question and you replied in detail how to repair my issue. I was so impressed with your knowledge and compassion for the viewer. I see now you have moved up and on into bike building, which is wonderful to see. However, I still own my HD 883 Iron and continue to have questions. My question is this: Have you ever considered expanding into another channel filled with just Harley-Davidson Maintenance and repair videos? I enjoy your bike building videos, but the content is just not for me. I'm not building bikes. However, so many of us "riders" could benefit from maintenance and repair videos. This is just a suggestion! Do whatever you love! I would never attempt to redirect your channel. I'm just trying to provide feedback that I feel could get you even more viewers and maybe a second channel to present this information. Well, I sure hope you both had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you both only good will and success in the future. Your "Toad Suck Arkansas" friends. Scott and Debbie. :)
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott and Debbie, wonderful to hear from you again, welcome back, we hope you're both really well and enjoying life, we think of you both often and hope you're both well. We do cover many subjects that's true, not just bike building and Harley maintenance, but also Jap bike maintenance, simple skills and reviews... we see other creators who adopt the policy of multiple channels and the problem is that you'll never get the whole audience watching both channels, so you effectively divide your audience, which is not a healthy thing. You Tube allows creators to group their videos in to 'playlists', and this is the best way for any creator to direct their viewers to the things they want to watch. Also administering two channels would be double the work for us, and mean less time making videos, as the admin. already takes 60% of our overall input! The only time a totally different channel is relevant is when it's a totally different subject, such as cars or even more diverse, say maybe DIY and building... but as everything we do is motorcycle related, we just feel the best route is to use 'playlists' to separate our content. Maintenance videos are not as common for us, as even though we have 4 bikes, and ride them as much as we can, there's only so much maintenance work that comes up, we don't have a constant stream of 'customers' bikes to use for video material, which is why the projects keep the long term viewers rolling... But you are more than welcome to get in touch, any time, even just by email if you prefer, with any Harley question you have and I'd be happy to help if I can. Take care, ride safe, and stay in touch, all the very best, your friends in England, Del & Pennyx

Hi there love your show if you put your face mask cartridge in a click lock bag when you are not using it. It will last longer and work better the charcoal in the filter keeps working out of the bag

Happy New Year!!!! Great job on the bike. What type or brand of deburring tool are you using? Seems to cut very well. Thanks
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, the de-burring tool is a Wiha set, they come with a hex shaft so you can put them in a bit driver and use them by hand, or use them as a counter sinker in a drill press... available if you want some, I can get you a link.

Sweet, Del! That’s looking really amazing. Will the compression of the forks stress your new fairing frame at all? I guess it depends on how it gets anchored? See you in 2020! 🏍👍🏍
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hey Gary, good to hear from you... nowhere near on the fairing, the fork travel is about 55mm, just just over 2" and that's slammed on the stops, that gap is about 6" down to the wheel, should be fine. Happy New Year to you and your family too!

Starting to come together! Indecently… the hash marks you make on the wire before you begin, are they for aiding in the bending, or are they just a reference point? ROCK ON BRUTHA!
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hey Brother, yes I mark the wire as that's where I want the curve to happen and you hatch them in with a file because the Sharpie pen mark disappears when you heat it... you'll see many blacksmiths, when they're working, will use a centre punch to spike a little mark in metal, as once it's yellow hot that's all you'll see. Ride safe, and stay in touch Brother, Del

More power to your elbow Del. Great job with the framing , you could tie the Queen Mary up to that! I can see the shape of the fairing in my mind now. Here's to another successful year for Penny and yourself...keep 'em coming owd son.

Hi Shane, thank you so much for your kind words, but we rally wanted to extend our heartfelt best wishes for all of you in Australia, we've been following your news and some of the photos are shocking, we cannot begin to imagine the fear and worry you are all living under... we sincerely hope that you and your family keep safe, please stay in touch, when you can, and let us know how you are, we're thinking of everyone in Oz at this time, take care and stay safe, all the very best, Del & Paulax

@@Moonfleet41 Hi Del. Many thanks for the thoughts. Fortunately the current fires are well away from our little patch. My wife has been on standby (she's an emergency services chaplain) since Xmas and will be heading off to one of the Victorian evacuation centres tomorrow. Its an over used word but its the correct one to use now ... unprecedented. Through a common interest, though spread across the globe, we gather round each other in times of need. Cheers 👍

Hi mate. In the triumph rear brake video you torque'd the disc bolts up then changed the setting and done them again. Do you and should you torque stuff up in stages? Is it better to do that? I never usually watch these type of long videos on you tube but honestly, every one I've watched I think I've learnt a lot of really cool stuff. The level of detail is awesome and I havnt seen it on any other videos so far. Thanks for helping me keep my bike away from the shop and do it myself 👍
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, It's not always essential to torque things down in stages unless it's maybe a cylinder head, and then its very important to prevent distortion... specially as things like that have a [pretty high torque value... but a brake disc doesn't, its a pretty low setting, and you can nip the disc down by hand, then click round it in a "star pattern" in one go... but as it's still a flat object, that needs to stay flat and not be warped.. i still like to take mine down in two stages.. i go just 5Nm shy of the full value in the first round.. then full value on the second.. even though its not essential, it doesn't hurt to take that extra care to make sure its down perfectly flat.... and also, it gives you a chance to make sure that every bolt is properly secure.. Hope that helps mate, good luck with your Triumph, and thank you for your support... Ride safe.. del.
