I don't think romantic love is real or special, and I think romantic relationships are a bad thing. I think humans should just stop being in romantic relationships. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. Romance seems like an ugly thing. Many fathers and brothers are hoping that their daughters/sisters never date or get married and remain single for their whole life due to the dangers and risks of romantic relationships. The overprotective father/brother thing is proof that romantic relationships are a bad thing, and that this world would be a much better place without them. If someday that the human race ditches the concept of romance and romantic relationships, and got rid of stuff like dating and marriage, fathers/brothers would be happy about it since they wouldn't ever have to worry about their daughters/sisters ever dating if that ever happened. People (especially women) should avoid being in a romantic relationship and be single for life since romantic relationships are dangerous.

I love everything about this ... Pacey and Joey ... Did you notice how they were always ... handsy ... is that even a word? The hugs were so warm, gentle, the way they touched eachother ... the way he held her head when he kissed her ... especially in those seasons when they were dating in real life, the chemistry was insane ... There was never any akwardness in their scenes together ... best friends, best lovers. And don't get me wrong, I like Katie, but Joshua ... he is one hell of an actor. I will forever have a crush on him as Pacey. 20 years later I love them as much as I did when the show came out.

This right here is still one of the greatest love stories I've ever seen. The writers, the directors, and the actors made their romance look so real. Sometimes I'll just rewatch season 3 to see them slowly come together and most of season 4 to watch their relationship progress. I rarely finish season 4 though because they should have never broken up in the first place.

I think them breaking was the right thing, they had to be apart, find themselves. Pacey was insecure when it came to Dawson, he felt less. He needed to work on himself and love himself before he could really love Joey completely.

Those 5 years away allowed Joey to figure out that her love for Dawson was the kind you feel toward a close friend, and the love she felt for Pacey was the kind that you feel toward your romantic partner.

They could drive each other crazy with their arguing, they could keep things exciting with their constant playful banter, they could love each other to the moon and back. They *never* got tired of each other; of all the people they've dated, to each other, they were the only ones that they never completely fell out of love with. Pacey made Joey happy. Joey inspired him to become a better man. Pacey brought so much life, adventure, spontaneity, unpredictability, passion, and unconditional love into her life. He always took care of her when she partied, he always held her higher than himself, and he challenged her in many ways. As did she for him. As well as helping him see his true potential, that he was capable of more than he knew, and that someday he'd prove everyone in his life wrong. They'd always be challenging, motivating, and growing with each other. Dawson is who she loved and grew up with as a kid. Pacey is who she loved and grew up with as a person. Dawson wasn't in love with her like the way Pacey was. Dawson loved her of course, but what he was *in love* with was the idea of her; the idea of them being "soul mates" (romantically speaking.) And tbh, in the beginning, it always seemed like Dawson just had Joey on the sidelines, like in case he didn't find anyone else. Pacey was different. He always paid more attention to her details, he embraced her talents and interests, and he always spoke volumes about her. And he *never ever* stopped looking and smiling at her the same way. It never changed, even after they broke up. PJ were the loves of each other's lives. "True love" forever! ⛵❤

I think Dawson and Joey loved each other for who they were, but Joey and Pacey loved each other for who they could be. J&P saw more in each other than each was able to see in themselves and that's why they were able to keep pushing each other to grow. It's different with Dawson. He's that childhood friend who u have that comfort with bc you've been thru so much together and know each other's pasts and childhood traumas intimately bc u suffered thru them together. That creates a powerful bond - i have a best friend like that. The problem is that the very beauty of that kind of friendship is also it's detriment. It's so connected to ur past that it can hinder growth, bc in a way, when ur together, ur back to being those kids again. It's this wonderful safety net where ur loved and understood exactly as u r and there's no pressure to grow or evolve, and sometimes u need that kinda love and support so it's great... But it's always what we need. We NEED ppl who love us as we are but also push us to be better, who see our greatness and push us to pursue it, force us outside our comfort zones and allow room fire us to change and evolve as we grow together... My newer friendships that aren't rooted to my past reflect that and I FEEL it. With them i feel more free to grow beyond my past into whomever i want. They are "my future" in the same way Joey tells Pacey that tho Dawson knows her past, "my future lies with you." It makes perfect sense. They are the perfect balance of personalities to help bring out the best in each other and it really did inspire them both to greatness. We all need friends, soulmates, and lovers like that in our lives... ❤

@@kim_chi1193 that is not canon though. he said that that would be the status of their relationship if they ever made a reboot, which is very unlikely considering one of the four main characters is dead. plus, he said that in the alternative universe where the reboot would take place, we would see them going back to each other because they cannot let each other go as they hold on to one another unconditionally. therefore, we would see them fall in love all over again, hence they wouldn’t be completely broken up lol

For some reason when I was younger I thought she ended up with Dawson because I remember the wedding scene but after watching this as a full grown adult LOL… I’m so glad they ended up together. The chemistry was out of this world and I thought it made complete sense that they chose Dawson to be her soulmate but Pacey to be the love of her life. Because soulmates can come in all different forms that doesn’t necessarily mean its going to be romantic but Pacey was definitely the love of her life and Dawson’s love of his life was his passion which was film ... I was so excited… And this is over 20 years later and this is fictional but I truly was excited LOL

OmG lol when i watched it as a kid i also thought she picked Dawson in the end bc of the wedding scene lol. It literally made me stop watching after Joey and Pacey broke up bc I was so mad they broke up and even more mad that Dawson would be endgame. Years later when i was in college i revisited the show and watched it to the end and realized how wrong i was lol and how it was actually perfect all along... And it worked out bc i was a teen when i first watched it so i related to their teen drama lol but watching it again as an adult made me have a higher appreciation for their adult years in college and beyond bc i was going thru that at the same time too. Now i'm excited to rewatch it again as an adult in my 30s and see if any of my thoughts and opinions have evolved since college lol...
