Excuse me while I’m dropping some lores here: Kang-Jin Loong (the white dragon) AKA Kang-Jin Star (in lady form) was the one who helped Wukong in the original novel. Wukong was trapped inside the gold cymbal, a magical item which no one could crack, and it would self-repair any damage done to it. Kang-Jin Loong pierced the cymbal with its horn, but the hole “healed” too quickly for Wukong to get out. So then, Kang-Jin Loong pierce the cymbal again, and this time, she stayed in place; and inside the cymbal, Wukong drilled a hole on Kang-Jin Loong’s horn, and then shrunk himself into the size of a flea, crawl inside the hole in the horn, then Kang-Jin was able to pull her horn out along with Wukong. Bajie (the Pig) AKA Wuneng: A significant figure in the story of Journey to the West. Bajie is the second disciple of San-Zang. Remember in the intro when Wukong was talking trash to Erlang Shen, he said “all these years, other than that Pig, you talked the tallest tales…” This is the Pig he was referring to! Bajie and Wukong always talked smack to each other throughout the journey. But they’ve also came in clutch for each other number of times. Despite how strong Wukong was, Bajie still managed to save him a number of times. Bajie wasn’t always a pig, he was of the celestial court once, he was Marshal (or Admiral) of the Canopy when he was in heaven. But then, one time he got drunk and harassed Chang’e, the moon goddess. After Chang’e “me too’d” him, the Jade Emperor banished the Marshal, and he fell from heaven and became the Pig. Bajie is lazy, gluttonous, and he drools over women all the time, but he is also loyal and respectful to his master San-Zang. He calls Wukong “big monkey brother”, and Wukong always calls Bajie “idiot”. Their friendship/fellowship is one of the funniest part of the Journey to the West story. And we all came to love this “idiot”.

Little bit of context for the story. Bajie or Pigsy(the pig you saw at the end) is Sun Wukong’s party member in the journey to the west. He is basically one of the main characters in the book. All four members in JttW have sins in their previous life/incarnation. For Bajie, he used to be a navy admiral in heavenly court. But he get caught harassing other goddesses in a party. For punishment, he was sentenced to become a pig monster. And he was told by Guanyin to join the party and help Tripitaka’s cause, as a way of redeeming himself.

The big headaches that Wukong sometimes has is because in the story the monk that wukong is travelling with gave him a golden tiara or headband that budha created to kind of control the wearer (I'm not a 100% sure)

That's what happened to Wukong in the intro to the game but the Destined One doesnt have the golden headband. If you're talking about the prison sequence he's being effected by Wise-Voice who is basically the warden. It periodically causes a status that reduces your health but buffs the damage of everything in the prison and causes the lantern guards to spawn.

@@mediumvillainthere is a head band that looks similar to wukongs from the opening sequence but yes it doesn’t have that effect to your character, from my understanding in Chp 4 you meet a boss and fight half way and you trigger a cutscene where like a chicken dude comes down and says your a reincarnation like on some matrix shit like your not the only one to achieve this lol 😂

Nah you are supposed to kill all of them before the final boss of the pagoda so you can get a special curio item. It’s fine if you avoid the spotlight and catch them at the start of the debuff period. Then just spam your spells and kill them. Then rest at the nearest shrine before the next debuff period

You may know already but there is a free "parry". In smash stance, the second or third skill down the right row allows the resolute strike and beyond. When you are in the light attack combo and hit heavy attack with a focus point you will be given I frames and able to do a top down strike with great range, damage, and you don't get hurt. It can also stagger the enemy

Hey afro, you should try making use of the resolute strikes from the smash stance more often. It kinda acts like a parry when you dont have access to the stone form. Just have to have a focus point and to trigger it you have to initiate a light combo and press your heavy attack button the moment enemy is about to attack. It fully negates their offense and you can follow up with a more damaging heavy
