Great video, thanks for sharing! Another option instead of welding is to cut off the flare end of the coolant steel tube before it runs under the mani, use molded heater hose part #63812 and a hose clamp, attach that to a 10AN elbow barb that mounts to a 10AN EGR riser. Can do this job at home, easy and looks clean.

When I was bolting the bracket on and adding the hose in place of the egr cooler. I was thinking this. Only thought was does it need the extra place to exit to keep cool. Guess you'll find out for us. Thanks for the video.

Does it affect the cooling of the truck blocking off that hose on the block?

No noticeable affect on cooling I've seen. most 2nd gen swaps remove this cooling passage as well.
